Restaurant Operations Management Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a restaurant operations management in Delaware?
Most restaurant operations management roles in Delaware are earned through a combination of frontline food service experience and formal education rather than a state-issued license. Employers typically look for candidates who have worked up through kitchen or floor roles and hold a degree in hospitality management or business from institutions like the University of Delaware or Delaware State University. Obtaining a ServSafe Manager Certification strengthens any application and is required by many Delaware food service employers.
Which companies hire restaurant operations managements in Delaware?
Companies currently hiring restaurant operations managements in Delaware include Summerwood Corporation, Bob Evans Restaurants, and Eggspectation Restaurant & Bar, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Delaware's mix of casino resorts, university dining contracts, and regional hospitality groups means openings appear across both corporate and independent operators throughout the state.
Which Delaware cities have the most restaurant operations management jobs?
Wilmington, Dover, and Newark hold the most restaurant operations management openings in Delaware. Wilmington anchors the list as the state's largest commercial center with a dense concentration of hotel dining, corporate catering, and casual dining chains, while Dover and Newark draw demand from state government facilities, the University of Delaware campus dining operation, and nearby retail and hospitality corridors.
Are there remote restaurant operations management jobs in Delaware?
Yes, but they're rare. Restaurant operations management is fundamentally an on-site role requiring direct oversight of staff, kitchens, and guests, so most positions require a physical presence. About 0% of restaurant operations management openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to be corporate-level roles focused on training program development, reporting, or multi-unit planning rather than day-to-day floor management.
How can I get hired as a restaurant operations management in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a shift lead or assistant manager at a Delaware restaurant or food service operation and building toward a full management role. Large employers like Aramark and Sodexo, which run campus and institutional dining contracts across Delaware, frequently hire entry-level supervisors and offer internal management training programs. Completing a ServSafe Manager Certification and pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in hospitality management at the University of Delaware or Delaware Technical Community College gives candidates a measurable edge in competitive applicant pools.
