Revenue Cycle Analyst Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a revenue cycle analyst in New York?
Most revenue cycle analyst roles in New York require at least an associate degree in health information management, business, or a related field, though a bachelor's is preferred by larger systems. New York does not issue a state license for this role, but employers strongly favor candidates who hold a nationally recognized credential such as the CPC from AAPC or the RHIT from AHIMA. Entry candidates often begin in billing, coding, or patient accounts roles at hospital systems before moving into analyst positions.
How much do revenue cycle analysts make in New York?
Revenue cycle analysts in New York earn a median of about $102,640 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $63,700 for the lowest 10% to over $171,030 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire revenue cycle analysts in New York?
Employers hiring revenue cycle analysts in New York right now include Helio Health, NYU Langone Health, and Woodmark, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New York's large integrated health systems and academic medical centers consistently post the highest volume of these openings across the state.
Which New York cities have the most revenue cycle analyst jobs?
New York, Syracuse, and Utica have the most revenue cycle analyst openings in New York. New York City leads by a wide margin given the concentration of major hospital systems, academic medical centers, and large physician groups headquartered there, while Buffalo and Albany reflect strong regional health network presence from employers like Kaleida Health and Albany Med.
Are there remote revenue cycle analyst jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most healthcare roles, since revenue cycle work is desk-based and does not require physical patient contact. About 19% of revenue cycle analyst openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the shift many health systems made after expanding their remote billing infrastructure. Denial management, payer follow-up, and reporting analyst roles are the most commonly offered in remote or hybrid arrangements.
How can I get hired as a revenue cycle analyst in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a patient accounts, billing, or medical coding role at a New York hospital system, then building toward an analyst title. Large systems like Northwell Health and NYU Langone regularly hire for entry-level billing and coding positions that feed into analyst pipelines. Earning a CPC or CPC-A credential from AAPC while in an entry role signals readiness for analyst responsibilities and distinguishes candidates without prior analyst experience.
