System Safety Engineer
Location: Greensboro, NC – Onsite
Job Type: Fulltime
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in system safety engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry
- Familiarity with safety standards such as ARP4761, ARP4754A, DO-178C, and DO-254
- Experience with safety analysis tools (e.g., Fault Tree+, CAFTA, or similar)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in engineering or a related discipline
- Experience with aircraft certification processes
- Familiarity with the management of safety requirements in DOORS or similar software
- Familiarity with FAA Part 23 airworthiness standards
- Knowledge of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, embracing evolving tasks and priorities
- Lead the charge in ensuring the safety of Honda Aircraft products by applying systems engineering principles to identify and eliminate hazards, reducing associated risks throughout their lifecycle
- Perform system safety analyses, including Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Preliminary System Safety Assessments (PSSA), System Safety Assessments (SSA), and Common Cause Analysis (CCA)
- Collaborate with design, reliability, and certification teams to ensure safety requirements are met
- Participate in design reviews, providing critical safety-related input
- Utilize innovative approaches to solve complex and challenging problems
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety processes and tools
- Take personal responsibility for your continued professional growth and development, with full support from your manager.
