Senior Level Scrum Master Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level scrum master job?
Employers at this level look for candidates who have led agile transformations, coached other scrum masters, and influenced delivery processes beyond a single team. Certifications like SAFe, LeSS, or CSP strengthen a senior application, but demonstrated impact on program-level outcomes carries the most weight. Highlight the scope of change you drove, not just the teams you ran.
Which companies hire senior level scrum masters?
Companies hiring senior level scrum masters right now include Leidos, Capgemini, and General Dynamics Information Technology, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to concentrate in large enterprises and scaling organizations that run multiple agile teams and need someone to own the methodology across them.
Are there remote senior level scrum master jobs?
Yes, remote and hybrid arrangements are common at this level. About 44% of senior level scrum master openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how many organizations now coordinate distributed agile teams. On-site roles do exist, particularly where teams are co-located or in regulated industries that require in-person collaboration.
What makes a scrum master role senior level?
Senior scrum master roles go beyond facilitating a single team. They involve owning agile adoption across multiple teams or a program, mentoring junior scrum masters, advising leadership on delivery strategy, and resolving systemic impediments that cut across the organization. The expectation is that you shape how the company does agile, not just how one team runs its sprints.
Which industries hire the most senior level scrum masters?
Senior Level scrum master roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Investment & Asset Management, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to run large, complex product portfolios that require experienced agile leadership to coordinate delivery across multiple teams and stakeholders.
