Security And Compliance Jobs in Louisiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a security and compliance professional in Louisiana?
Most security and compliance roles in Louisiana require a bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information systems, finance, or a related field, combined with an industry credential such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, or a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional designation. Louisiana has no single state-issued license specific to general compliance work, but roles in healthcare must meet HIPAA standards and energy sector positions often require NERC CIP familiarity. Building experience through internal audit or risk analyst roles is the most common starting path.
How much do security and compliances make in Louisiana?
Security and compliances in Louisiana earn a median of about $92,990 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $66,660 for the lowest 10% to over $139,190 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire security and compliances in Louisiana?
Employers hiring security and compliances in Louisiana right now include Tulane University, PROGRESSIVE TRACTOR & IMPLEMENT, and Ampirical, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Louisiana's energy, healthcare, and banking industries generate the most consistent demand, with large anchor employers maintaining dedicated compliance and information security teams year-round.
Which Louisiana cities have the most security and compliance jobs?
New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Covington are the Louisiana cities with the most security and compliance openings. New Orleans drives the largest share of listings through its concentration of healthcare systems, financial institutions, and corporate headquarters, while Baton Rouge adds significant volume from state government agencies, petrochemical firms, and Louisiana State University's affiliated operations.
Are there remote security and compliance jobs in Louisiana?
Yes, and more than most fields, since security and compliance work is largely desk-based and analytical rather than hands-on. About 30% of security and compliance openings tied to Louisiana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader industry trends toward flexible arrangements. Roles focused on policy writing, risk assessment, and regulatory reporting are the most likely to be fully remote.
How can I get hired as a security and compliance professional in Louisiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a compliance analyst or junior information security analyst role from an adjacent position such as IT support, paralegal work, or internal auditing. Large Louisiana employers like Ochsner Health and Entergy periodically hire for entry-level compliance associate roles that provide structured on-the-job training. Earning a CompTIA Security Plus certification or completing a free or low-cost GRC fundamentals course before applying gives candidates a measurable edge over other entry-level applicants.
Where can I find and apply to security and compliance jobs in Louisiana?
You can find and apply to security and compliance jobs in Louisiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to Louisiana employers. Search the listings to find roles that match your background, then apply directly to the ones that fit. No signup is required to see the openings.
