Compliance Consultant Jobs in Louisiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a compliance consultant in Louisiana?
Most Louisiana employers expect a bachelor's degree in business, law, finance, or a related field as the starting point. From there, earning a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional designation through the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics strengthens your candidacy considerably. Louisiana has no single state-issued compliance license, but professionals working in specific sectors such as insurance must meet Louisiana Department of Insurance licensing requirements. Building experience in a regulated Louisiana industry is the most direct path.
How much do compliance consultants make in Louisiana?
Compliance consultants in Louisiana earn a median of about $70,290 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $39,850 for the lowest 10% to over $119,990 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire compliance consultants in Louisiana?
Louisiana compliance consultant roles are posted by Tulane University, PROGRESSIVE TRACTOR & IMPLEMENT, and Ramboll and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Louisiana's energy, healthcare, and banking sectors generate the steadiest volume of openings, with large regional employers driving much of the demand.
Which Louisiana cities have the most compliance consultant jobs?
New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Covington account for the largest share of compliance consultant openings in Louisiana. Baton Rouge and New Orleans lead because they concentrate the state's energy headquarters, hospital systems, and financial institutions, while Shreveport draws demand from healthcare networks and regional banking operations anchored in northwest Louisiana.
Are there remote compliance consultant jobs in Louisiana?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 36% of compliance consultant openings tied to Louisiana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based, analytical nature of the work. Policy review, regulatory reporting, and compliance training are the functions most commonly offered on a remote basis, while on-site audits and stakeholder meetings typically require some in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a compliance consultant in Louisiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a compliance analyst or regulatory affairs coordinator role, which large Louisiana employers such as Ochsner Health and Entergy use as a training ground for early-career professionals. Moving laterally from a paralegal, internal auditing, or risk management position is another common path. Earning a CCEP certification or completing a compliance certificate program through Tulane University's law school gives candidates a measurable credential that offsets limited field experience.
Where can I find and apply to compliance consultant jobs in Louisiana?
You can find and apply to compliance consultant jobs in Louisiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Louisiana openings across the energy, healthcare, and financial services sectors. Search the listings, identify the roles that match your background and experience level, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
