Entry Level Security Consultant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level security consultant job?
Entry level security consultant roles typically look for foundational knowledge in risk assessment, compliance frameworks, or cybersecurity principles, often gained through coursework, certifications like CompTIA Security+ or CISSP Associate, or internship experience. A portfolio demonstrating a real-world security audit, vulnerability assessment, or policy write-up gives candidates a concrete edge over those with only coursework to show.
Which companies hire entry level security consultants?
Companies hiring entry level security consultants right now include Deloitte, Guidehouse, and Capital One, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring covers consulting firms, managed security service providers, financial institutions, and government contractors, all of which regularly bring on junior consultants to support client engagements and internal security programs.
Are there remote entry level security consultant jobs?
Yes, though on-site and hybrid roles remain common at this level. About 38% of entry level security consultant openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting demand from clients who need flexible consulting support. Fully remote roles tend to favor candidates who can demonstrate strong written communication and independent project management from day one.
Are these new grad security consultant jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior security consultant roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or academic projects toward that threshold, or explicitly accepts a strong portfolio in place of professional history. Look for language like "entry level," "junior," or "recent graduates encouraged to apply" in the job description.
Which industries hire the most entry level security consultants?
Entry Level security consultant roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Manufacturing, and Accounting & Auditing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they face significant regulatory requirements, frequent audits, and evolving threat landscapes that create steady demand for junior consultants who can support senior-led client engagements.
