How do you become a senior devops engineer in Missouri?
Senior devops engineer roles in Missouri do not require a state-issued license or registration. Most employers look for a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, combined with several years of hands-on devops experience. Industry certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or HashiCorp Terraform Associate carry significant weight with Missouri employers, particularly in Kansas City and St. Louis technology and healthcare IT firms.
How much do senior devops engineers make in Missouri?
Senior devops engineers in Missouri earn a median of about $126,120 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $72,570 for the lowest 10% to over $169,340 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior devops engineers in Missouri?
Missouri senior devops engineer roles are posted by General Dynamics Information Technology, Bass Pro Shops, and The Baer and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Missouri's mix of healthcare IT, financial services, and defense contractors means senior devops openings appear across a wider range of industries than in many comparable Midwest markets.
Which Missouri cities have the most senior devops engineer jobs?
St. Louis and Springfield account for the largest share of senior devops engineer openings in Missouri. Kansas City leads because of its dense concentration of financial technology, healthcare IT, and logistics firms, while St. Louis draws openings from large enterprise technology companies and major research institutions, and Columbia benefits from the University of Missouri's technology and research operations anchoring smaller but steady devops demand.
Are there remote senior devops engineer jobs in Missouri?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 0% of senior devops engineer openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly cloud infrastructure and pipeline work can be performed without a physical presence. Roles focused on architecture design, monitoring, and automation tooling are the most consistently offered on a fully remote basis.
How can I get hired as a senior devops engineer in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a systems administrator, cloud support engineer, or junior developer role into devops responsibilities within the same organization. Large Missouri employers such as World Wide Technology, Cerner, and regional financial institutions regularly post associate infrastructure and cloud operations roles that serve as on-ramps. Building a public portfolio of Terraform configurations, CI/CD pipeline projects, or Kubernetes deployments on GitHub, combined with an entry-level cloud certification, gives candidates a measurable edge when applying to these bridge roles.
Where can I find and apply to senior devops engineer jobs in Missouri?
You can find and apply to senior devops engineer jobs in Missouri on Migrate Mate, which lists current Missouri openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your experience and target location, and apply directly to each position that fits.
