• Plans, administers and monitors the financial and operational policies and procedures of a school or major organizational unit.
• Coordinates and participates in the strategic planning process.
• Develops short and long term financial goals and implements fiscal policies to support the financial viability of the organization.
• Assesses cash needs, manages cash flow and maximizes the appropriate use of funds.
• May negotiate and sign contracts; oversees the preparation of operations and grant budgets; monitors compliance.
• May coordinate auditing activities of independent public accountants.
• Works closely with the LGS CBO to support effective implementation and ongoing compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
• Develops, implements and maintains computer-based accounting systems.
• May oversee the administration and maintenance of organizational information systems.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with banks, auditors and other constituents.
• May represent the organization in external financial or business activities.
• Develops and prepares operational and statistical reports.
• Trains and supervises staff.
• Performs related responsibilities as required.

• May work on special projects under the guidance of the CBO.

• A bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting or finance.
• Seven years of related financial experience. Positions in this classification may require a Certified Public Accountant.

• Strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills; must be an active listener and open-minded collaborator.
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and across the Emory community.
• Extensive knowledge of management strategies and practical application in the workplace.
• Experience with process mapping and process improvement.
