As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the the Digital Banking division, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes standard software solution, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
- Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
- Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
- Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation
- Develop backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Spring WebFlux, Python, or comparable technologies.
- Contribute to user-interface development using React or another modern JavaScript framework when required.
- Build RESTful APIs and event-driven integrations using technologies such as Kafka.
- Write clean, maintainable, secure, and well-tested code that follows established engineering standards.
- Build and support workloads running on technologies such as AWS ECS, EKS, Fargate, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, MSK, ElastiCache, and Amazon Bedrock.
- Develop applications using cloud-native design principles, including scalability, resiliency, fault tolerance, high availability, and automated recovery.
- Support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Contribute to infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or equivalent technologies.
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or another modern programming language.
- Hands-on experience developing and deploying applications on at least one major public-cloud platform, preferably AWS.
- Knowledge of generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases, AI agents, and retrieval-augmented generation.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them to practical business and engineering problems
- Experience with AWS services such as ECS, EKS, Fargate, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, MSK, ElastiCache, CloudWatch, IAM, API Gateway, and Amazon Bedrock.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring WebFlux, Python, or React.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
- Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
- Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Familiarity with OpenAI-compatible APIs, Amazon Bedrock, LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or similar AI frameworks.rise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs.
