Senior Product Design Jobs in Kansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior product design in Kansas?
Senior product design roles in Kansas do not require a state-issued license or board registration. The standard path is a bachelor's degree in product design, industrial design, human-computer interaction, or a related field, followed by several years of progressively responsible experience building and shipping digital or physical products. Kansas employers in aerospace and healthcare technology often value candidates who can show portfolio work in complex, regulated product environments alongside demonstrated team leadership.
How much do senior product designs make in Kansas?
Senior product designs in Kansas earn a median of about $104,870 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,590 for the lowest 10% to over $163,180 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior product designs in Kansas?
Companies currently hiring senior product designs in Kansas include Garmin, Bombardier, and Quanta Infrastructure Solutions, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Kansas's aerospace corridor around Wichita and the technology employers clustered in the Kansas City metro and Overland Park tend to generate the most consistent senior-level openings.
Which Kansas cities have the most senior product design jobs?
The cities with the most senior product design openings in Kansas are Wichita, Overland Park, and Olathe. The Kansas City metro and Overland Park dominate because of the dense concentration of enterprise technology, financial services, and healthcare IT employers headquartered or regionally based there, while Wichita adds steady volume through its aerospace and advanced manufacturing sector.
Are there remote senior product design jobs in Kansas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 35% of senior product design openings tied to Kansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly the discipline has shifted to distributed team structures. UX and digital product design roles are the most remote-friendly, while hardware-integrated or research-lab-based positions tied to aerospace or medical device work in Wichita tend to require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a senior product design in Kansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is building a portfolio through associate product designer or UX designer roles at Kansas-based technology employers or digital agencies in the Kansas City metro and Overland Park, then moving into a senior title after demonstrating ownership of end-to-end design work. Garmin and larger healthcare IT employers in the metro run new-grad and rotational programs that place candidates without industry experience into structured design roles. An adjacent path from UX research, graphic design, or front-end development is common, and a Figma-fluent portfolio with at least one shipped product is the single most effective credential.
