- Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript, including component-based architecture, state management, and responsive design.
- Experience integrating frontend applications with RESTful APIs and backend services built in PHP/Laravel or Python/Node.js.
- Python & Node.js: Django, Flask, or FastAPI; API integration; data processing; scripting; and backend architecture.
- Laravel & Node.js: Eloquent ORM, Laravel Service Container, Express.js, RESTful APIs, and performance optimisation.
- Strong, hands-on expertise in Node.js and at least one modern JS framework (Express.js, NestJS, etc.), with a track record of building and scaling production backend services.
- Experience with MySQL (required); PostgreSQL and MongoDB are a plus.
- Version Control: Proficiency in Git and Bitbucket.
- API Development & Integration: Strong understanding of designing and implementing scalable, secure APIs.
- Application Performance: Knowledge of caching strategies, load balancing, and monitoring tools.
- AI-Assisted / “vibe coding” Tools: Comfortable using AI coding assistants (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) for rapid prototyping, boilerplate generation, debugging, and code review, with the judgment to know when to rely on them and when not to.
