Service Advisor Jobs in Idaho: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a service advisor in Idaho?
Most Idaho dealerships and service centers hire candidates who combine automotive knowledge with customer service experience, and there is no state-issued license required to work as a service advisor in Idaho. Many candidates enter through technical training programs at College of Western Idaho or Idaho State University's automotive technology department, then transition into a write-up or customer liaison role. Earning an ASE Service Consultant certification significantly strengthens your candidacy with Idaho's franchised dealership groups.
Which companies hire service advisors in Idaho?
Employers hiring service advisors in Idaho right now include Jiffy Lube, Camping World, and Teton Auto, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Idaho's heavy concentration of franchised new-car dealerships and agricultural equipment dealers means openings appear consistently across the Treasure Valley and the eastern Idaho corridor.
Which Idaho cities have the most service advisor jobs?
The Idaho cities with the most service advisor openings are Nampa, Idaho Falls, and Boise. Boise and the surrounding Treasure Valley metro anchor the largest share of listings because that region holds the highest density of franchised dealerships, fleet service operations, and RV and powersports centers in the state, while Idaho Falls and Pocatello reflect strong agricultural and industrial equipment service demand in eastern Idaho.
Are there remote service advisor jobs in Idaho?
Yes, but they're rare. Service advisor work is fundamentally tied to a physical service drive, walk-around inspections, and face-to-face customer communication, which limits remote options significantly. About 0% of service advisor openings tied to Idaho are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those roles tend to be customer relations coordinator or service BDC positions that handle inbound scheduling and follow-up calls rather than full write-up advisor duties.
How can I get hired as a service advisor in Idaho with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a service porter or lot technician role at a Treasure Valley dealership, which puts you on the drive and visible to service managers looking to develop writers. Larry H. Miller and Lithia Motors locations in the Boise area run internal development tracks that move customer-facing staff into junior advisor seats. Completing the College of Western Idaho automotive service program and passing the ASE Service Consultant exam while in an entry role gives candidates a clear credential edge when a write-up position opens.
Where can I find and apply to service advisor jobs in Idaho?
You can find and apply to service advisor jobs in Idaho on Migrate Mate, which lists current Idaho openings from dealerships, equipment service centers, and fleet operations. Find roles that fit your experience and location and apply directly to the employers posting them.
