Modern Auto Service was started to offer drivers a different kind of repair shop, one built on transparency, convenience, and a stress free experience. We are hiring a service advisor for our Fruitland shop on S Pennsylvania Ave.
The service advisor is the person our customers trust. You are the first voice they hear and the one who explains what their vehicle needs and why. Our technicians document what they find with digital inspections, and customers always get an estimate before any work is performed. We do not pressure and we do not upsell. We lay out the facts and let the customer decide. That approach is how we are building the most trusted independent repair shop in the Treasure Valley, and the front counter is where it happens.
You do not need to be a mechanic. You do need to communicate clearly, stay organized on a busy day, and genuinely care about treating people right. We pay for training, so if you are new to the automotive side, we will help you learn it.
WHAT WE OFFER
- $50,000 to $70,000 per year depending on experience, with room to grow
- Paid training to build your automotive and service writing knowledge
- Four 10-hour days a week. The shop is open Monday through Friday, and you get a three-day weekend every week

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Greet customers in person and on the phone, and schedule appointments
- Listen to the customer's concerns and write clear, accurate repair orders
- Walk customers through digital inspection results, with photos and notes, in plain language
- Build estimates and get customer approval before any work begins
- Prioritize recommendations by safety and urgency so customers can plan their repairs
- Keep customers updated by phone and text throughout the day
- Coordinate with technicians on workflow, parts, and timelines so jobs finish on time
- Order parts and track their arrival
- Coordinate complimentary vehicle pickup and delivery
- Set up service reminders and follow up after the visit
- Process invoices and payments and explain completed work at pickup
- Keep the front counter and customer area clean and organized

- Honest and comfortable recommending only what the vehicle actually needs
- Organized and calm when the phones are ringing and the lot is full
- Previous service advisor, automotive, or customer service experience is helpful, but we will train the right person
- Basic automotive knowledge is a plus
- Comfortable with computers, shop management software, and digital inspection tools
- Positive attitude and willing to jump in when the team needs a hand
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
