Base Salary ($50,000 - $60,000) + Bonus
Earning Potential of $120,000
Overview:
Import Specialty Service has been serving Nashville for more than 30 years, and some customers have been with the shop for nearly that entire time. The team is close-knit, technicians and advisors work together, and the expectation is simple: treat people honestly, communicate clearly, and take care of the customer in a way that earns the next visit.
This is a good fit for an experienced automotive Service Advisor who enjoys a busy environment, can stay calm when several things are happening at once, and knows how to sell needed repairs without making customers feel pressured. The strongest fit will be someone friendly and welcoming, positive, trustworthy, comfortable with automotive terminology, and genuinely good at working with both customers and technicians.
You will be joining an established team, not walking into a revolving door.
Import Specialty Service operates Monday through Friday, with advisors working 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. There are no weekends, and the shop puts real emphasis on family and work-life balance.
The shop has weekly meetings where employees are encouraged to bring up ideas, concerns, and opportunities for improvement. Leadership is accessible, the shop foreman is involved in keeping workflow moving, and new employees are checked in with regularly so small problems do not become bigger ones.
The team also makes time to enjoy working together. Shop lunches and outings like TopGolf, axe throwing, and arcade events have all been part of the culture.
Pay & Benefits:
Base salary: $50,000–$60,000 plus performance-based bonus
Strong performers have the opportunity to earn significantly more, with total compensation potentially exceeding $120,000.
Benefits include:
- 100% employer-paid employee health insurance premium after 90 days
- 75% employer-paid dental and vision premiums after 90 days
- 401(k) with a 3% company match after eligibility requirements are met
- 6 paid holidays
- PTO
- Shop-provided shirts
- Paid training and opportunities to earn additional certifications
- Regular compensation reviews after 90 days and then every six months
There is also room to build a career here. A strong advisor can grow into opportunities such as Lead Service Advisor, Service Manager, or General Manager.
What We Do Here:
Import Specialty Service is a 31-year-old independent repair shop that began as a Volvo specialist and has grown into a broader import-focused operation servicing primarily European and Asian vehicles, along with some domestic vehicles.
The shop has 8 bays and 5 technicians with a typical daily car count of approximately 10–15 vehicles. The environment is fast-paced, but there is a shop foreman helping manage workflow and a team structure designed to keep technicians and advisors communicating.
The facility is heated and air conditioned, and advisors have access to iPads. The shop uses Tekmetric for shop management and digital vehicle inspections.
For advisors who enjoy actually understanding the repairs they are selling, this is also an environment where the technical side is accessible. Technicians may speak directly with customers about recommended repairs, and collaboration between the front and back of the shop is encouraged.
What We Are Looking For:
This is not about seeing how much you can sell someone once.
The goal is to build enough trust that customers continue coming back year after year.
You should be comfortable listening carefully to a customer's concern, documenting it accurately, setting realistic expectations, explaining technical findings in understandable language, and helping customers decide what needs attention now versus what can reasonably wait.
You will also be expected to confidently handle price objections, follow up on declined work, build accurate estimates and repair orders, monitor parts, and keep customers informed throughout the repair process.
The strongest candidate will bring at least 3 years of automotive service experience, ideally from an independent repair shop or dealership environment.
You should be comfortable with:
- Automotive terminology and common repair recommendations
- Creating accurate estimates and repair orders
- Labor times and estimate structure
- Meeting sales goals and expectations
- Digital vehicle inspections
- Shop management software
- Ordering parts and monitoring their status
- Explaining repairs clearly to customers
- Handling objections without becoming pushy
- Following up on declined work
- Working closely with technicians
- Staying composed when the shop gets busy
- Building long-term customer relationships
Automotive knowledge, honesty, trustworthiness, and the ability to work well with a team are important here. Dealership or independent repair shop experience is strongly valued.
If you are an experienced Service Advisor who likes a fast-moving shop but still wants weekends off, a strong team around you, long-term customers, room to grow, and an environment where doing right by people still matters, Import Specialty Service is worth a conversation.

Service Advisor Jobs in Nashville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a service advisor job in Nashville?
Focus your search on Nashville's dense dealership corridors along Nolensville Pike and the Murfreesboro Road corridor into Antioch, where franchised and independent automotive groups cluster. Candidates with OEM-certified technician backgrounds or service writer experience at high-volume stores get the fastest callbacks. Knowledge of RO writing software like CDK or Reynolds and Reynolds is a practical edge, and familiarity with Nashville's large fleet and commercial vehicle operators adds further appeal to employers here.
Which companies hire service advisors in Nashville?
Companies currently hiring service advisors in Nashville include Jiffy Lube, HPCTX, and Midas, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Nashville's mix of large franchise dealership groups, independent multi-point repair chains, and commercial fleet service operations creates steady, diverse demand for the role across the metro.
Are there remote service advisor jobs in Nashville?
Yes, though remote work is rare for service advisors since most of the role involves direct interaction with customers and vehicles on-site. About 0% of service advisor openings tied to Nashville are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, generally covering administrative, warranty coordination, or call-center service scheduling functions. Those hybrid opportunities tend to sit with larger dealer groups or third-party warranty administrators based in the Nashville metro.
How can I get a service advisor job in Nashville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Nashville is through a service porter, lot attendant, or parts counter role at one of the dealership groups along the Nolensville Pike or Murfreesboro Road corridors, where internal promotions into service advisor seats are common. Nashville's large AutoNation and Hendrick-affiliated stores, along with independent multi-brand shops in Brentwood and Antioch, regularly hire entry-level candidates and provide manufacturer training. A Tennessee state inspection certification or basic automotive coursework through Tennessee College of Applied Technology strengthens your application considerably.
