Client Advisor Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a client advisor in Tennessee?
The path depends on the specialty. For insurance-based client advisor roles, you must obtain a Tennessee insurance producer license through the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance, which requires completing pre-licensing education and passing a state exam. For securities and investment advisory roles, FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 registrations are standard. Most Tennessee employers also require a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field, and many prefer candidates pursuing the CFP designation.
Which companies hire client advisors in Tennessee?
Companies currently hiring client advisors in Tennessee include JPMorganChase, Truist, and CS&A Insurance, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Tennessee's strong financial services and insurance sectors mean large regional banks and national wealth management firms maintain consistent hiring pipelines across the state.
Which Tennessee cities have the most client advisor jobs?
Clarksville, Nolensville, and Franklin have the most client advisor openings in Tennessee. Nashville leads because of its concentration of corporate headquarters, regional bank offices, and insurance carriers, while Memphis draws significant activity from its established commercial banking and wealth management sectors, and Knoxville supports steady hiring through its regional financial institutions and growing professional services market.
Are there remote client advisor jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely analytical roles because client advisor work often relies on in-person relationship building and trust. About 0% of client advisor openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting a mix of arrangements. The portions of the role most likely to be done remotely are financial planning consultations, virtual onboarding calls, and portfolio review meetings with established clients.
How can I get hired as a client advisor in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a financial services associate or banking representative role at a Tennessee regional bank or insurance carrier, where you build client-facing skills before moving into an advisory seat. Truist and Regions Bank both run structured new-associate programs in Tennessee that develop relationship management competencies from the ground up. Obtaining your Tennessee insurance producer license before applying gives you a concrete credential that signals commitment, and lateral moves from licensed customer service or personal banker roles are a common pathway hiring managers in Tennessee recognize.
