Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, highly qualified Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to provide comprehensive clinical social work services to a diverse client population, with a focus on serving Arabic-speaking individuals and families. The successful candidate will deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, case management, and supportive counseling, utilizing a culturally responsive framework tailored to the specific needs of Muslim and Arab-American communities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing clinical documentation standards and medical terminology to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based individual and group therapy sessions using modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
• Engage clients through motivational interviewing techniques to foster motivation for change and enhance treatment adherence.
• Deliver specialized mental health interventions for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, addiction issues, and geriatrics.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR/EHR systems), documenting patient care activities in accordance with clinical research standards and medical documentation protocols.
• Participate in crisis intervention efforts and provide immediate support during mental health emergencies or behavioral crises.
• Clinical Assessment & Intervention: Conduct diagnostic intake assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide individual, family, or group psychotherapy to clients presenting with a range of behavioral health and psychosocial needs.
• Bilingual Direct Care: Deliver full clinical services, therapeutic sessions, and crisis interventions fluently in both Arabic and English.
• Culturally Responsive Service Delivery: Apply deep cultural competence and understanding of cultural norms, traditions, values, and religious considerations relevant to Arab and Muslim populations to ensure accessible, respectful, and effective care.

Requirements

• Valid licensure as a Master Social Worker (LMSW) with eligibility for independent practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Fluency in both Arabic and English is essential to effectively serve diverse populations.
• Cultural Competency: Demonstrated experience and proficiency in working with Muslim and Arab-American populations, including an understanding of relevant cultural, social, and religious dynamics in a therapeutic context.
• Proven experience working with children, families, individuals with disabilities, or those experiencing substance use disorders.
• Strong knowledge of psychotherapeutic techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, addiction counseling, crisis management, and mental health assessments.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical records management.
• Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds while maintaining cultural sensitivity.
• Experience working within hospital settings or home & community care environments is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of clinical research methodologies related to mental health interventions is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills for client engagement, case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in community mental health, outpatient clinic settings, or refugee/immigrant integration services.
• Familiarity with local community resources, faith-based organizations, and specialized support networks serving Arab and Muslim communities.
• Training or certification in evidence-based modalities (e.g., CBT, Trauma-Informed Care, Solution-Focused Therapy).
