Certified Nurse Anesthetist - CRNA
Full-Time Status
Department: Anesthesia
Location: Trinity Health Livonia and Huron Gastroenterology
Minimum rate of pay: $124.28/hour
JOB SUMMARY
- The CRNA, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist involved in the administration of various types of anesthesia and related services for surgical, diagnostic, therapeutic and obstetrical procedures for pediatric through adult patients throughout the hospital.
- Performance shall be under the overall direction of the Medical Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology or qualified designee and shall be responsible to the CRNA Manager.
- Performs pre-anesthetic assessment including requesting appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies in preparation for administration of general, regional, or proper sedation.
- Prepares room for anesthetic delivery, performing machine check and setting up necessary adjunctive equipment, checks readiness, availability and working condition of all equipment used in the administration of anesthetic agents.
- Prepares patient for anesthetic delivery.
- Maintains accurate anesthesia delivery record and adjunct forms.
- Records all pertinent events taking place during delivery of anesthetic.
- Accompanies patient to PACU and provides immediate post-anesthesia care and reports to PACU personnel assuming responsibility for patient care.
- Clinical responsibilities include accurate monitoring and assistance in cardiopulmonary resuscitation management, ventilation and life support measures inside and outside the OR suite.
- Assists in data collection and case review for process improvement activities.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditations of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, or its predecessor.
- Current state license in the State of Michigan.
- CRNA Certification.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
