Job Title: Software Product Owner
Location: On-Site Daleville, VA
Company: Munters Corporation (Daleville, VA)
About us: Munters is a global leader in climate solutions for mission-critical processes. We offer innovative, efficient and sustainable solutions for customers in industries where controlling indoor humidity, temperature and energy efficiency is mission critical. Climate control systems often account for a large percentage of energy consumption in many of our customers’ operations. With an optimal climate system, we can help them to more efficiently use energy or water resources and thereby reduce their climate and environmental impact. Sustainability is an important part of Munters’ business strategy and value creation. We pride ourselves on fostering a dynamic and inclusive work environment where interns are valued members of the team and are given meaningful projects to work on.
Job Description:
Come be a part of the exciting digital transformation happening at Munters, where we bring an entrepreneurial mindset to the development of digital tools and capabilities that connect and enable our business. Our team is growing, and we are looking for a Product Owner / Senior Product Owner to join us. This is a broad role, so we need someone who is comfortable switching context and keeping a clear head across multiple products and priorities at once.
Day to day you will be close to end users and stakeholders, understanding how they use our products, what is working well, and what isn’t. You will need to understand the strategic direction of the projects and seek clarity to fill in information gaps. You will need to make sure the team has clear priorities, actionable requirements, and effective execution, while also contributing thoughtful input into roadmap and prioritization discussions.
You will be responsible for tracking progress, managing progress, and keeping forecasts and deliverables visible to the right people. This is not a purely delivery-focused role though. We want someone who genuinely cares about the end user experience and brings that perspective into every decision.
You will work in an Agile team, where collaboration is always a part of the process. You are a team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and learning new technologies. We succeed and fail together. It's less fragile, more fun and leads to better results.
Responsibilities:
- Own the product backlog, keeping it prioritized, refined and well understood by the teams.
- Write and refine user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria so that work is ready for development and clearly understood by the team.
- Stay close to end users and stakeholders through regular direct contact, turning real feedback and needs into clear requirements and roadmap decisions.
- Contribute to roadmap planning and sequencing in partnership with product leadership, using customer insight, delivery realities, dependencies, and business priorities to help shape decisions.
- Track progress against deliverables and make sure nothing slips quietly, flagging risks early and keeping the team focused on what matters.
- Manage and report on progress and forecasts, giving stakeholders clear and honest visibility of projects.
- Set clear delivery expectations and maintain accountability, without turning everything into overhead.
- Work closely with developers to understand technical constraints and make good trade-off decisions.
- Run and participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement and reviews in a way that keeps things moving, ensuring that upcoming sprint work is sufficiently refined, prioritized, and ready to execute.
- Keep stakeholders informed and aligned, knowing when to go into detail and when to keep it at a high level.
- Contribute to team ceremonies and help foster a collaborative and positive team culture.
Requirements
- 5-7+ years of experience working as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, or in a similar software delivery role
- Strong experience working in agile software development teams
- Experience owning and prioritizing a backlog for an engineering team
- Experience running or facilitating sprint planning, backlog refinement, and reviews
- Ability to write clear user stories, define acceptance criteria, and keep work well prepared for delivery
- Experience working closely with developers on scope, dependencies, trade-offs, and technical constraints
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with Jira or similar planning tools
Preferred qualifications:
- A background in UX or UI design, or experience working closely with designers. Someone who can spot it when something feels off for the user and knows how to fix it.
- Experience with integration or platform products, APIs or enterprise system connectivity.
- Familiarity with customer-facing products, service-oriented workflows, or internal operational systems
- Experience with enterprise systems such as ERP platforms.
- Experience in a B2B or industrial tech environment. Scrum/Product Owner certification such as CSPO or PSPO
Benefits:
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
- Flexible work schedule. Generous vacation and paid time off.
- Paid parental leave. 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer matching
- Professional development opportunities, including tuition reimbursement and conference attendance.
