Software Support Specialist Jobs in Aurora: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a software support specialist job in Aurora?
Focus your search on Aurora's three dominant hiring pockets: the Fitzsimons medical campus and its surrounding health IT contractors, defense and aerospace firms along the I-225 corridor near Buckley Space Force Base, and the enterprise software companies clustered in the Southlands and Aurora City Place districts. Candidates who can demonstrate ticketing system fluency, ITIL familiarity, and hands-on troubleshooting with healthcare or government software stand out most in this market.
Which companies hire software support specialists in Aurora?
Employers hiring software support specialists in Aurora right now include University of Colorado, CVS Health, and Safeway, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Aurora's employer mix skews toward health systems, federal contractors, and mid-market software firms, reflecting the city's Fitzsimons medical hub and its significant defense sector presence.
Are there remote software support specialist jobs in Aurora?
Yes, though availability depends on the role type: purely desk-based tier-one and tier-two support positions are the most remote-friendly, while roles tied to on-site hardware, lab systems, or government-secured networks typically require in-person presence. About 12% of software support specialist openings tied to Aurora are remote or hybrid as of July 2026. Cloud platform support and SaaS helpdesk roles with Aurora employers tend to offer the most remote flexibility.
How can I get a software support specialist job in Aurora with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Aurora is targeting health IT support roles at the Fitzsimons campus area, where UCHealth, Children's Hospital Colorado, and their technology vendors regularly hire entry-level support staff and often provide on-the-job training. A CompTIA A+ or Microsoft certification signals readiness to these employers. Lateral moves from customer service roles within Aurora's healthcare or SaaS companies are also a proven door into the field locally.
Which industries hire the most software support specialists in Aurora?
Most software support specialist openings in Aurora sit in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Aurora's concentration of health systems anchored at Fitzsimons, federal and defense contractors near Buckley Space Force Base, and growing enterprise software operations in its eastern commercial corridors collectively drive the bulk of local hiring activity for this role.
