Site Reliability Engineer Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a site reliability engineer in Colorado?
Site reliability engineering has no state-issued license in Colorado, so the path runs through education and demonstrated technical skill. Most Colorado employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related engineering discipline, though candidates with associate degrees who hold recognized certifications such as the Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Certified Kubernetes Administrator frequently compete for junior roles. Building a public portfolio of infrastructure projects and contributing to open-source tooling strengthens applications significantly in Colorado's competitive market.
Which companies hire site reliability engineers in Colorado?
Employers hiring site reliability engineers in Colorado right now include Vertafore, Todyl, and MongoDB, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Colorado's density of aerospace, defense-adjacent tech, and fintech firms means demand is consistent year-round rather than concentrated in short hiring cycles.
Which Colorado cities have the most site reliability engineer jobs?
Denver, Aurora, and Centennial account for the largest share of site reliability engineer openings in Colorado. Denver anchors the market through its concentration of cloud-native startups, financial services firms, and regional headquarters, while Boulder draws engineering talent through its university ecosystem and product-focused tech companies, and Colorado Springs sees steady demand from defense contractors and government-adjacent technology employers.
Are there remote site reliability engineer jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 71% of site reliability engineer openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how naturally the work fits distributed teams. The most remote-friendly parts of the role are monitoring, automation scripting, and on-call incident response, while roles requiring hands-on data center access or classified network environments tend to require an on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a site reliability engineer in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a systems administrator, DevOps engineer, or software developer role where you already manage infrastructure or deployment pipelines. Colorado employers like Lockheed Martin and Dish Network run rotational or associate engineering programs that accept candidates transitioning from adjacent roles. Earning the Certified Kubernetes Administrator credential and building a GitHub portfolio of infrastructure-as-code projects makes a candidate credible even without a formal SRE title on their resume.
Where can I find and apply to site reliability engineer jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate lists current site reliability engineer openings in Colorado, including both on-site and remote positions tied to Colorado employers. Search the roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit. No signup is required to see the listings.
