Who We Are
AeroVect is transforming ground handling with autonomy, redefining how airlines and ground service providers around the globe run day-to-day operations. We are a Series A company backed by top-tier venture capital investors in aviation and autonomous driving. Our customers include some of the world’s largest airlines and ground handling providers. For more information, visit www.aerovect.com.
As a Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure (Cloud), you will own the data infrastructure and cloud systems that power AeroVect's autonomous driving platform. You'll design and scale the pipelines that move operational data from real-world deployments into the systems that drive development, testing, and continuous improvement — ensuring reliability and performance
This is a highly impactful role at the intersection of cloud infrastructure and data engineering. You'll have real ownership — designing systems from the ground up, not inheriting a finished stack. The opportunity to grow into a technical leadership role is real as the team scales.
You Will
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that move operational data from on-prem systems into cloud infrastructure
Architect and manage cloud-based infrastructure (AWS) for scalable computation, data processing, and system telemetry
Integrate on-prem and cloud data flows into a cohesive, reliable data architecture
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, reliable software delivery and validation across simulation and real-world testing environments
Implement and manage infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) for consistent, automated provisioning
Develop internal services and automation tools to streamline data ingestion, processing, and observability
Establish and enforce best practices for data reliability, pipeline observability, and system security
Drive root-cause analysis for data infrastructure and pipeline issues; design long-term solutions to improve system resilience
Collaborate with autonomy and systems engineers to define scalable data interfaces and cloud deployment strategies
You Have
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
7+ years of experience building cloud infrastructure and data systems for large-scale distributed systems
Strong proficiency in Python with a focus on data pipeline development and automation
Hands-on experience with Kafka, Kubernetes, and gRPC for building scalable, high-throughput data systems
Deep expertise with AWS cloud services including compute, storage, and data processing
Experience with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI)
Proficiency with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience automating deployments with Terraform or CloudFormation
Familiarity with Git-based workflows, code review processes, and collaborative software development
We Prefer
Experience integrating on-prem and cloud data flows in a hybrid infrastructure environment
Background in data engineering for robotics, autonomous systems, or real-time operational data
Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK Stack
Familiarity with networking, security, and distributed system performance optimization
Experience supporting safety-critical, real-time, or high-availability systems

Cloud Software Engineer Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a cloud software engineer in Colorado?
Cloud software engineering has no state-issued license in Colorado, so the path centers on education and credentials employers recognize. Most roles require a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, though bootcamp graduates with strong portfolios do get hired. Vendor certifications from AWS, Microsoft, or Google carry real weight with Colorado employers, particularly those in aerospace, defense, and enterprise software.
How much do cloud software engineers make in Colorado?
Cloud software engineers in Colorado earn a median of about $138,390 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $96,480 for the lowest 10% to over $213,010 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire cloud software engineers in Colorado?
Employers hiring cloud software engineers in Colorado right now include CACI International, AeroVect, and ClickHouse, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Colorado's concentration of aerospace primes, federal contractors, and cloud-native software firms means consistent demand across both security-cleared and commercial engineering tracks.
Which Colorado cities have the most cloud software engineer jobs?
Denver and Colorado hold the most cloud software engineer openings in Colorado. Denver anchors the market as the state's largest tech employment center, home to AWS, Google, and a dense cluster of enterprise software firms, while Boulder draws cloud engineering roles through its startup ecosystem and university research ties, and Colorado Springs reflects demand from the region's large defense and federal contracting employers.
Are there remote cloud software engineer jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 100% of cloud software engineer openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, which reflects how naturally the work translates to distributed teams. Infrastructure, platform engineering, and backend cloud development roles tend to be the most consistently remote, while roles involving classified government systems or on-site lab environments typically require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a cloud software engineer in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a junior cloud or DevOps engineer role after earning a foundational vendor certification, such as AWS Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, paired with a portfolio of deployed projects. Colorado employers like Lockheed Martin, SAIC, and Ball Aerospace run associate and early-career programs that hire candidates without prior professional cloud experience. Roles in QA automation, IT operations, or systems administration at Colorado tech or defense firms also provide a strong lateral move into cloud engineering.
Where can I find and apply to cloud software engineer jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to cloud software engineer jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current Colorado openings across Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, and beyond. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
