Software Support Specialist Jobs in Colorado Springs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a software support specialist job in Colorado Springs?
Focus your search on the defense contracting, healthcare IT, and cybersecurity sectors that dominate Colorado Springs hiring, particularly around Peterson Space Force Base, Fort Carson, and the Briargate medical campus. Familiarity with ticketing systems, ITIL frameworks, or DoD IT environments gives candidates a clear edge here. Targeting employers in the Powers Boulevard and Northgate corridors, where tech operations are densest, will surface the most relevant openings.
Which companies hire software support specialists in Colorado Springs?
Employers hiring software support specialists in Colorado Springs right now include AMERICAN SYSTEMS, SABG, and Biolife Plasma Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Colorado Springs draws a mix of large defense primes, regional healthcare networks, and mid-size managed services providers, all of which maintain active software support teams.
Are there remote software support specialist jobs in Colorado Springs?
Yes, though availability depends on the role: desk-based and analytical support work is frequently remote, while hands-on infrastructure or on-site DoD positions typically require in-person presence. About 42% of software support specialist openings tied to Colorado Springs are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with remote arrangements most common among commercial software and SaaS-focused employers rather than defense contractors.
How can I get a software support specialist job in Colorado Springs with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Colorado Springs is targeting managed services providers and regional healthcare IT teams, which regularly hire tier-one support technicians with a CompTIA A+ or Help Desk certification rather than years of experience. Pikes Peak State College's IT programs have placed graduates with local employers. Entry-level roles on healthcare helpdesks at facilities near Briargate or with small DoD subcontractors often serve as the clearest stepping stones into the field locally.
Which industries hire the most software support specialists in Colorado Springs?
The sectors hiring the most software support specialists in Colorado Springs are Aerospace & Defense, Technology & Software, and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Colorado Springs' heavy concentration of military installations, Space Force commands, and an expanding medical corridor keeps demand in those sectors consistently high relative to the city's size.
