Solutions Architect Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a solutions architect in Tennessee?
Tennessee does not require a state-issued license to work as a solutions architect, so the path runs through education and vendor credentials. Most Tennessee employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering alongside a cloud certification from AWS, Microsoft, or Google at the professional level. Candidates who build experience in a technical support, systems administration, or software engineering role at one of Tennessee's large enterprise employers or hospital systems before moving into architecture are consistently the strongest hires.
Which companies hire solutions architects in Tennessee?
Employers hiring solutions architects in Tennessee right now include Humana, Genesco, and Amazon Web Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Tennessee's large healthcare networks, logistics firms headquartered in Memphis, and financial institutions centered in Nashville make the state one of the more active markets for enterprise architecture roles in the South.
Which Tennessee cities have the most solutions architect jobs?
Nashville, Tennessee, and Lebanon have the most solutions architect openings in Tennessee. Nashville leads because of its dense concentration of healthcare technology companies, corporate headquarters, and financial services firms, while Memphis draws demand from global logistics and supply chain operators, and Knoxville benefits from Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the University of Tennessee's growing technology ecosystem.
Are there remote solutions architect jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, and more than most technical fields. About 78% of solutions architect openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of the role involves designing systems, producing documentation, and consulting with distributed stakeholders rather than managing on-site hardware. The portions of the role most commonly performed remotely are cloud architecture design, vendor evaluation, and stakeholder presentations.
How can I get hired as a solutions architect in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a lateral move from a systems administrator, cloud engineer, or software developer role into an associate or junior solutions architect position. Large Tennessee employers such as HCA Healthcare and FedEx run structured technology rotational programs and new-graduate associate engineer tracks that regularly feed into architecture career paths. Earning an AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate credential before applying gives candidates a concrete signal of readiness and is consistently cited in Tennessee entry-level listings as the differentiating qualification.
Where can I find and apply to solutions architect jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to solutions architect jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current Tennessee openings across Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville, and surrounding areas. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly to each one.
