Opportunity Overview
As an AI Platform Architect I at Teradyne, you will be a hands-on builder and a critical enabler of our enterprise AI strategy. Your primary mission is to construct, configure, and maintain the environments and tools that our organization will use to create and deploy cutting-edge AI solutions. Reporting to the Enterprise AI Architect, you will be responsible for translating the enterprise AI Strategy into functional, secure, and observable enablers for Teradyne systems.
This is a deeply technical role focused on implementation. You will be responsible for setting the direction and partnering with infrastructure and engineering teams for everything from setting up secure, role-based environments in Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, and Google Vertex AI, to building AI agents for real-world use cases. You will develop and maintain RAG workflows, MCP Servers, and use Microsoft 365 services like Power Automate to streamline business processes. Your work is the essential foundation that empowers our teams to innovate and execute on our AI vision.
AI Platform & Environment Enablement
- Create, configure, and manage the development and deployment environments for our core AI platforms: Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Google Vertex AI, and Snowflake Cortex AI.
- Implement and maintain robust Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC) and other critical security configurations within each platform to ensure a "secure by default" posture for all users and services.
- Manage platform settings, integrations, and resource allocations to ensure optimal performance and cost-efficiency for development teams.
- Engineer reusable MLOps/LLMOps pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions to automate the complete lifecycle of AI models, from testing to production deployment.
- Mentor and upskill teams in agentic AI design, MLOps & LLMOps practices, and solution architecture, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
AI Solution Development
- Establish and document reusable patterns, playbooks, and modular workflows for agentic AI, ensuring rapid adoption and consistency across teams leveraging both no-code and programmatic development environments, such as Microsoft Copilot and Azure Foundry.
- Integrate AI agents with enterprise data sources, APIs, and MCP servers for interoperability and future-proofing.
- Build and maintain sophisticated Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows, creating vector databases and embedding pipelines to ground models in proprietary enterprise data.
- Architect and develop the centralized MCP server and gateway, ensuring secure, observable, and governed interactions for all enterprise AI agents.
- Build automated workflows using Power Automate and M365, integrated with AI agents and enterprise systems to streamline business processes and enhance productivity.
AI Governance, Security, and Observability
- Implement technical guardrails across all AI platforms to enforce data handling, model usage, and responsible AI principles.
- Apply security controls to AI agents and RAG workflows, mitigating risks like prompt injection and unauthorized data access.
- Engineer and maintain a centralized logging solution to create detailed audit trails of all AI agent interactions and decisions.
- Implement monitoring dashboards to track AI platform health, agent performance, resource utilization, and operational costs.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding STEM OPT Authorization in Platform Architect
Verify your CIP code matches Platform Architect
Check that your degree's CIP code appears on the DHS STEM Designated Degree Program List. Computer science, computer engineering, and information systems codes typically qualify, but double-check with your DSO before applying to roles.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before accepting offers
Ask hiring managers directly whether their legal entity, not just the parent company, is enrolled in E-Verify. Subsidiaries and staffing firms sometimes operate under separate employer identification numbers that aren't E-Verify participants.
Build your I-983 training plan around architecture milestones
Draft your I-983 before your start date using concrete Platform Architect deliverables, such as designing a multi-cloud deployment strategy or owning a system reliability benchmark. Vague goals draw DSO scrutiny and can delay your extension approval.
Target employers with active H-1B LCA filing history
Use Migrate Mate to filter Platform Architect roles by employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications under architecture and systems SOC codes, signaling they understand and budget for technical visa sponsorship beyond OPT.
Use O*NET to frame your degree's technical relevance
Platform Architect sits under Systems Architects in O*NET, which maps required knowledge to specific STEM disciplines. Referencing this alignment in cover letters helps hiring managers connect your degree to the role before your work authorization comes up.
Apply during cap-gap if your H-1B petition is pending
If your employer files an H-1B petition before your OPT expires and you're selected, cap-gap protection extends your work authorization through September 30. USCIS considers your status continuous, so you can keep working as a Platform Architect without interruption.

Find Platform Architect JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does my STEM degree qualify me for the 24-month OPT extension as a Platform Architect?
Your degree qualifies if its CIP code appears on the DHS STEM Designated Degree Program List. Degrees in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, and information systems are the most common qualifiers for Platform Architect roles. Confirm your specific CIP code with your DSO, since two programs at the same university can have different designations even when the coursework overlaps significantly.
What does the I-983 training plan need to cover for a Platform Architect position?
Your I-983 must describe how your Platform Architect duties provide a structured learning experience in your STEM field. Include specific goals like designing distributed systems, evaluating cloud provider architectures, or leading technical reviews. Goals must connect your work to skills from your degree. Both you and your employer sign the form, and your DSO reviews it before your extension is approved.
How do I confirm my employer is enrolled in E-Verify?
E-Verify enrollment is required for every employer sponsoring a STEM OPT extension. You can search the E-Verify employer search tool by company name to check enrollment status before you accept an offer. If the company uses a staffing agency or operates through a subsidiary, confirm which legal entity will actually employ you, since E-Verify enrollment doesn't automatically extend across related companies.
How do I find Platform Architect roles where employers are prepared to sponsor STEM OPT?
Search Migrate Mate for Platform Architect listings filtered to employers with verified E-Verify enrollment and a history of sponsoring international candidates. Many architecture roles are posted without explicit sponsorship language, so filtering by employer filing history saves time and helps you prioritize outreach to companies that have sponsored similar technical roles before.
Can I continue working as a Platform Architect if my H-1B is filed but not yet approved?
Yes, if your employer files a timely H-1B cap-subject petition before your OPT EAD expires and you're selected in the lottery, cap-gap protection under USCIS rules extends your work authorization. You can continue in your Platform Architect role through September 30 of that year. Your EAD may also be extended further if your petition approval is still pending after that date.
