Summary: The Procurement Manager – Strategic Sourcing is responsible for overseeing the procurement process for significant indirect procurement category expenditures, ensuring timely delivery, optimal cost, and adherence to quality standards. This role requires a strategic approach to sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation, contract management, and category management with a focus on long-term value and risk mitigation.
We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and energetic candidate with a strong background in category management, supply chain management, negotiation, contract management, and a keen attention to detail to drive value and mitigate risk in the organization. This role provides an opportunity to be a thought leader in the space by developing strategies in the indirect procurement space, building key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and driving positive change and efficiencies.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for key indirect categories to optimize costs, quality, and supplier performance.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities based on factors such as quality, cost, delivery time, and financial stability.
- Negotiate favorable contracts with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing, terms, and conditions; ensure contracts align with organizational goals and legal requirements and manage any relevant contract renewals or amendments.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business and category requirements and develop procurement plans aligned with business objectives.
- Monitor supplier performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and take proactive measures to address any issues or risks.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing initiatives, such as sourcing events, consolidating suppliers, negotiating commercial terms, and implementing agreements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements in business and category spaces to drive continuous improvement and innovation in procurement processes.
- Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, including conducting regular supplier business and performance reviews and fostering partnerships to enhance collaboration and value creation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures related to procurement and supplier management; conduct regular audits to identify and address compliance gaps.
- Collaborate with Procurement team to create, align, and maintain sourcing strategies to ensure timely deliverance, cost effectiveness, and adhere to quality requirements.
- Regularly works onsite to build strong team connections, collaborate across functions, and solve problems in real time.

Compensation & Benefits:
This is a salaried exempt position with an annualized salary range of $110,000 to $140,000.
Trident Seafoods offers a comprehensive and quality benefits package. For full-time employees, the initial PTO benefit starts at 20 days per year, adjusted commensurate with relevant experience, front loaded on the first of the year, initially prorated quarterly based on hire date. Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the indirect procurement space.
- A bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and years of experience.
Preferred Education & Experiences:
- Certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma, or Lean Management are a plus.
- Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes and components and supply chain management.

Work Environment:
