General Summary:

Qualcomm is seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to drive ecosystem development and strategic partnerships across the Industrial Automation and Manufacturing sector.

The Director, Strategic Alliances will be responsible for developing and executing Qualcomm's global partnership strategy across industrial software providers, system integrators, automation suppliers, machine builders, cloud providers, and industry consortiums. The individual will serve as a key representative of Qualcomm within the industrial ecosystem and will be accountable for building relationships that accelerate adoption of Qualcomm technologies across edge AI, industrial computing, robotics, factory automation, machine vision, connectivity, and digital manufacturing solutions.

This role requires a strong combination of business development expertise, industry knowledge, executive engagement skills, and technology acumen.

Key Responsibilities

Ecosystem Strategy

• Define and execute Qualcomm's industrial ecosystem strategy.
• Identify and prioritize strategic partners that can accelerate adoption of Qualcomm technologies.
• Develop partnership roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
• Build and maintain a comprehensive ecosystem engagement framework.
• Establish regional partnership priorities across North America, Europe, Japan, Korea, China, and India.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of Sales, Business Development or related work experience.

  Associate's degree and 12+ years of Sales, Business Development or related work experience.
  OR
  High School Diploma or equivalent and 14+ years of Sales, Business Development or related work experience.
  
  

  • Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.

This role is U.S.-based, and is not eligible for visa sponsorship. This position can be based out of Qualcomm's Austin, TX (Preferred), Santa Clara or San Diego, CA office locations and is expected to comply with the company's onsite work policy.

Preferred

• The successful candidate will have 15+ years of experience in industrial automation, manufacturing technology, enterprise software, or related industrial markets.
• 10+ years in partnerships, alliances, business development, or ecosystem leadership.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and industrial transformation initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience building strategic partnerships and driving business growth.
• Experience working across global organizations and cultures.
• Strong executive communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience with Industrial IoT, Edge AI, industrial computing, industrial robotics, MES, SCADA, industrial networking, or factory digitalization.
• Existing relationships across industrial software vendors, SIs, and automation providers.
• Experience influencing industry ecosystems and partner organizations.

Success Metrics

Within the first 12-24 months:

• Establish strategic relationships with top-tier industrial ecosystem partners.
• Create measurable partner-sourced and partner-influenced pipeline.
• Launch multiple joint solutions and go-to-market initiatives.
• Drive Qualcomm inclusion in partner reference architectures and solution frameworks.
• Increase Qualcomm visibility and influence within the industrial automation ecosystem.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits :

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
