Strategic Project/Program Manager
Energy4Life · Salt Lake City, Utah (In-Person)
Be the operating system behind the founder. Keep the AI, the projects, and the people organized — so creativity moves at full speed.
Why This Role Exists: The founder is doing three jobs at once: innovating on THE FIELD app, directing the creative and launch of a documentary film, and setting the vision for an AI-run company. The bottleneck isn't ideas — it's that too much of the operation lives in one head.
This role exists to change that. You are the founder's Strategic Project/Program Manager — the person who keeps the AI infrastructure, the active projects, and the people organized and moving, so the founder can spend their time on the work only they can do: science, product, creative, and vision.
You are not a process manager running sprints for an engineering org. You are a force multiplier for one person and a small team of exceptional builders. Do this job well and the founder's output roughly doubles. That's the whole point.
What You'll Own: The accountability is yours. AI accelerates it — you're responsible for it.
- Program and project visibility. Clear, current status on every active initiative, what's blocked, and what's next — reported on a predictable cadence.
- Project documentation, decision logs, and status reporting systems. Context, decisions, and progress organized so nothing lives only in someone's head — and so AI agents can actually use it.
- Coordination across the team. The AI engineers, the biomedical AI work, the electronics engineer, and external partners — kept aligned through clarity, without you becoming the bottleneck.
- Quarterly planning and execution alignment. Translate founder direction into a structured project plan with milestones, owners, and deadlines — then track and report against it.
- The documentary as an active project (temporary). Coordinate the moving parts of the film and its launch until that work scales into the marketing function.
What You'll Build: This team runs AI-first. Not AI-curious. AI-first. You don't track things by hand if an agent can do it.
- AI systems that manage the work — surface project status, flag risk, and keep things moving without manual chasing.
- Configure AI agents to automate status tracking, risk flagging, and milestone reporting across projects.
- Agentic workflows that take operational load off the founder and the team — built and configured by you, in partnership with the AI engineers.
You don't need to out-engineer the AI scientists. But you should be able to build and configure agents yourself and work fluently in tools like Claude Code. Technical enough to build it; organized enough to make the whole thing cohere.
The Team You'll Work With
- A master's-level AI/CS engineer building the agentic system — an exceptional technical brain, early in business experience.
- A master's-level AI/CS engineer building the biomedical AI models.
- An electronics engineer building the devices.
- The founder — your closest working partner, with direct weekly access.
You'll also coordinate closely with the company's leadership — the CRO, the incoming Director of Marketing, the Operations Director, and the Controller. You don't manage them; you keep the work between them, the founder, and the build team aligned, visible, and moving. You're the connective tissue, not the chain of command.
Your edge isn't engineering depth — it's organization, coordination, and judgment. You turn brilliant individual work and a fast-moving leadership team into one aligned, compounding system.
Who This Role Is For
- You are relentlessly organized — you build order out of chaos by instinct.
- You think in systems and information architecture — you make complex things legible.
- You are AI-native — you already run your own work on AI, and you can build and configure agents.
- You coordinate brilliant people without managing them heavily — alignment through clarity, not control.
- You want ownership over how complex, multi-track initiatives actually get delivered.
- You move fast, hold a lot in your head, and make everyone around you more effective.
Who This Role Is Not For
- You need a defined process to follow rather than one to create.
- You treat AI as a tool you've heard of rather than how you actually work.
- You want to be the smartest engineer in the room.
- You need a large org and firm boundaries to feel comfortable.
- You confuse activity with progress.
How We Work
- AI-first. Humans direct and decide; AI does as much of the execution as possible.
- Small team, high ownership, direct founder access.
- Clarity over bureaucracy. Speed over polish — until polish matters.
- Build it, organize it, make it compound.
