Summer Associate Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a summer associate in Utah?
The most direct path is to secure enrollment in an ABA-accredited law school or an accredited MBA program and apply during your first or second year. Law-focused summer associate roles in Utah typically require enrollment in good standing and interest in eventual bar admission through the Utah State Bar. Finance and consulting roles generally require enrollment in a recognized graduate business program, a competitive GPA, and demonstrated analytical experience from coursework or prior internships.
Which companies hire summer associates in Utah?
Utah summer associate roles are posted by KING ROOFING, ARCO a Family of Construction Companies, and Dennis and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Utah's concentration of regional law firms, financial technology companies, and asset managers headquartered along the Wasatch Front means openings are spread across both national employers with Utah offices and locally rooted firms.
Which Utah cities have the most summer associate jobs?
Salt Lake City, Riverton, and Vineyard hold the most summer associate openings in Utah. Salt Lake City drives the majority of postings because it is home to the state's largest law firms, regional bank headquarters, and financial services operations, while Provo benefits from its proximity to large employers tied to Brigham Young University's pipeline of graduate students, and Ogden attracts positions at manufacturing and logistics companies with legal and finance needs.
Are there remote summer associate jobs in Utah?
Yes, but they are less common than in fully desk-based fields because many summer associate programs are deliberately in-person to provide mentorship and training. About 80% of summer associate openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, which reflects employers keeping core program activities on-site. Research, document review, and financial modeling tasks are the portions of the role most likely to carry remote flexibility.
How can I get hired as a summer associate in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to first-year summer associate programs, which are specifically designed for candidates without professional legal or finance experience. Large Utah law firms and financial institutions commonly recruit through on-campus interview programs at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law and the David Eccles School of Business. Candidates who have held paralegal, research assistant, or financial analyst internship roles gain a meaningful edge, as do those who can demonstrate strong writing samples or case competition results.
Where can I find and apply to summer associate jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to summer associate jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current Utah openings in one place. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your program year and area of interest, and apply directly to the positions that fit your background.
