As a Manager of Strategy, you will play a critical role in defining future-state coffeehouse experiences, operating models, and equipment strategies that support long-term business growth. You will lead highly cross-functional initiatives spanning Retail Operations, Product, Coffeehouse Development, Finance, Supply Chain, Technology, and Customer Experience to identify emerging opportunities, evaluate strategic tradeoffs, and develop recommendations for senior leadership.
You will help shape enterprise strategies ranging from equipment portfolio planning and operational innovation and productivity initiatives, ensuring Starbucks continues to evolve alongside changing customer behaviors and business needs.
As a Manager of Strategy, Engineering Deployment and Scale-up, you will…
Develop enterprise growth strategies
Lead strategic initiatives focused on the future coffeehouse experience, equipment ecosystem, and operating model.
Analyze customer, partner, operational, and financial insights to identify growth opportunities and emerging business challenges.
Develop long-term strategic recommendations that support business growth, productivity, and customer experience objectives.
Lead cross-functional innovation and transformation efforts
Drive alignment across diverse cross-functional teams to define future-state solutions and implementation roadmaps.
Facilitate leadership discussions, strategic workshops, and governance forums to build alignment and accelerate decision making.
Translate complex problems into actionable strategies and business recommendations.
Build business cases and strategic recommendations
Develop quantitative analyses, business cases, and scenario models to evaluate strategic alternatives and investment decisions.
Assess opportunities across coffeehouse design, equipment, workflow, labor, and process innovation.
Present recommendations and key decisions to senior leadership teams.
Provide partners with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities to build an effective team:
Challenge, inspire and provide coaching to team members to achieve business results.
Conduct performance reviews, oversee training and make staffing decisions.
We’d love to hear from people with:
Progressive experience in strategy, consulting, operations, product strategy, or business transformation.
Experience leading cross-functional programs involving multiple business functions and senior stakeholders.
Strong analytical, financial modeling, and business case development skills.
Ability to translate complex operational challenges into strategic recommendations.
Experience influencing leaders and driving alignment without direct authority.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations and strategic storytelling.
Demonstrated experience developing long-term strategies, operating models, or innovation roadmaps.
Experience managing others, 3+ years

- If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
