Structural Engineer Jobs in Denver: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a structural engineer job in Denver?
Focus your search on Denver's commercial construction boom along the South Platte corridor, the RTD light rail expansion, and the city's ongoing mixed-use redevelopment projects in RiNo and LoHi. Civil and MEP engineering firms, general contractors, and municipal agencies concentrate hiring here. Candidates with experience in seismic design, steel framing, or sustainable building systems stand out in Denver's competitive market.
Which companies hire structural engineers in Denver?
Employers hiring structural engineers in Denver right now include HDR, AECOM, and S. A. Miro, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Denver's hiring mix tends toward regional engineering consultancies, large general contractors working on urban infill and transit projects, and energy-sector firms tied to Colorado's oil, gas, and renewable infrastructure.
Are there remote structural engineer jobs in Denver?
Yes, though structural engineering is more hands-on than most disciplines, limiting full-remote options. About 71% of structural engineer openings tied to Denver are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, skewing toward firms doing analysis, documentation, and code compliance work. Design review, load calculations, and report writing are the tasks most commonly performed remotely in Denver-area roles.
How can I get a structural engineer job in Denver with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Denver is through a junior engineer or EIT role at a mid-size structural or civil consultancy downtown, where project volume is high and mentorship is built into the workflow. Denver firms working on transit-oriented development and urban infill regularly bring on recent graduates for drafting, modeling, and field observation support. A Colorado EIT credential and Revit or ETABS proficiency are the clearest differentiators at the entry level locally.
Which industries hire the most structural engineers in Denver?
Denver structural engineer roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Construction & Real Estate, and Energy, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Denver's sustained population growth, active transit expansion, and energy transition investments in the Front Range keep demand in these sectors consistently above national averages.
