Structural Project Engineer Jobs in Colorado

Anchor Engineering is seeking experienced Structural Engineers and Project Managers (P.E.) to join our growing Denver team. This opportunity is ideal for professionals looking to expand their technical expertise, project leadership, client relationships, and mentorship responsibilities within a collaborative and supportive environment. Depending on experience, qualifications, and leadership abilities, candidates may be considered for roles ranging from Project Engineer through Project Manager. Successful candidates will contribute to the design and delivery of a diverse range of projects while helping develop team members, strengthen client relationships, and support Anchor Engineering's continued growth.

What You’ll Do

• Lead or support the structural design and delivery of projects from concept through construction.
• Prepare, review, and oversee structural calculations, plans, specifications, and engineering reports.
• Analyze structural systems and develop practical, code-compliant design solutions.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, consultants, and internal project teams.
• Manage or support project scope, budgets, schedules, staffing, and deliverables.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and Anchor Engineering quality expectations.
• Provide technical guidance, quality review, and mentorship to engineers, designers, and technicians.
• Participate in site observations, field investigations, and construction-phase services.
• Support development of construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Assist with proposals, client presentations, business development efforts, and long-term client relationships.

Role Scope (Varies by Experience)

Project Engineer

• Performs structural analysis, design, and project coordination.
• Prepares calculations, plans, specifications, and technical reports.
• Assists with project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Conducts site observations and field investigations.
• Coordinates with clients, architects, contractors, and consultants.
• Mentors junior engineers and technicians.

Senior Project Engineer

• Independently leads structural design and technical execution.
• Takes ownership of project deliverables, schedules, and coordination.
• Reviews and oversees work prepared by junior staff.
• Stamps projects and technical reports as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary client and consultant contact.
• Contributes to proposals, client development, and business growth.
• Mentors Project Engineers, Design Engineers, and Technicians.

Project Manager

• Leads projects from proposal through construction completion.
• Manages project scope, budgets, schedules, staffing, and profitability.
• Oversees technical quality and project execution.
• Serves as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Reviews and approves project deliverables and quality standards.
• Develops and maintains client relationships while supporting business development efforts.
• Participates in recruiting, mentoring, and staff development activities.
• Helps guide project teams and support the continued success of Anchor Engineering's Denver operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited program.
• Active P.E. or S.E. license (or ability to obtain Colorado licensure).
• 4+ years of structural engineering experience.
• 6+ years preferred for Senior Project Engineer consideration.
• 8+ years preferred for Project Manager consideration.
• Experience with steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and light-gauge framing design.
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software.
• AutoCAD and Revit experience preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience coordinating with clients, architects, contractors, and consultants.
• Interest in mentoring team members and contributing to company growth.

• Salary Range: $70,000 – $120,000 (based on experience, licensure, and role level)
