Systems Integration Engineer Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a systems integration engineer in Colorado?
Most systems integration engineer positions in Colorado require a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, systems engineering, or a closely related technical field. Colorado does not require a state-issued license specific to this role. However, many employers in the state's defense and aerospace sectors expect candidates to hold or be eligible to obtain a federal security clearance, and professional certifications such as INCOSE's Certified Systems Engineering Professional credential strengthen a candidate's profile considerably.
Which companies hire systems integration engineers in Colorado?
Employers hiring systems integration engineers in Colorado right now include Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Colorado's deep concentration of defense primes, aerospace manufacturers, and telecommunications firms means hiring is sustained year-round rather than project-driven.
Which Colorado cities have the most systems integration engineer jobs?
Aurora, Littleton, and Broomfield account for the largest share of systems integration engineer openings in Colorado. Denver anchors the market through its dense technology and telecommunications industry base, Colorado Springs draws heavily from the military installations and defense contractors clustered along the southern Front Range, and Boulder's established aerospace and research corridors keep a steady pipeline of integration roles open.
Are there remote systems integration engineer jobs in Colorado?
Yes, but they're limited, because systems integration engineering frequently requires hands-on lab work, hardware testing, and on-site verification activities that cannot be done remotely. About 0% of systems integration engineer openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with the remote share concentrated in roles focused on software integration, systems architecture, or program management rather than physical hardware integration.
How can I get hired as a systems integration engineer in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a junior systems engineer or integration test engineer role with one of Colorado's large defense or aerospace employers, many of whom recruit directly from Colorado State University, the University of Colorado campuses, and the Colorado School of Mines. Lockheed Martin and Raytheon Technologies both run structured new-graduate engineering development programs in Colorado. Lateral moves from adjacent roles such as quality assurance engineer, test technician, or network engineer also open the door, particularly when paired with an INCOSE membership or a relevant internship.
Where can I find and apply to systems integration engineer jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to systems integration engineer jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current Colorado openings. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
