The Role
As a System Administrator in the KTL360 managed services practice, you will own the day-to-day health, security, and improvement of client Microsoft environments, on-premises and in the cloud. You will participate in the service desk, lead projects, and help defense contractors meet NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC requirements through the technology you configure. You will also mentor other technicians and help shape the standards we use across all clients.
Microsoft 365 (Commercial, GCC, GCC High)
- Administer Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams across multiple client tenants and cloud environments.
- Build and maintain Microsoft Entra ID configurations: Conditional Access, MFA, Privileged Identity Management, RBAC, hybrid identity, and Entra Connect / Cloud Sync.
- Manage endpoints with Microsoft Intune: compliance policies, configuration profiles, Windows Autopilot, application deployment, and security baselines.
- Configure Microsoft Purview for data protection: sensitivity labels, DLP, retention, and audit logging.
Azure (Commercial and Government)
- Deploy and support Azure IaaS and PaaS workloads: virtual machines, virtual networks, NSGs, VPN gateways, storage, backup, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Apply Azure Policy, resource governance, and cost management across client subscriptions.
- Automate repeatable work with PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and Azure CLI; use infrastructure-as-code (Bicep or Terraform) where it fits.
On-Premises Infrastructure
- Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file services, and Hyper-V or VMware hosts.
- Plan and support hybrid designs that connect on-premises environments to Microsoft 365 and Azure.
- Maintain patching, backup, and disaster recovery for client servers.
Security Operations and Compliance
- Implement technical controls that support NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2, and produce the configuration evidence clients need for their System Security Plans and assessments.
Managed Services Delivery
- Resolve escalated tickets in ConnectWise PSA within SLA, with clear notes and time entries.
- Serve as a technical point of contact for assigned clients; explain issues and recommendations in plain language.
- Write and maintain client documentation, runbooks, and standard configurations.
What You Bring
Required
- 5 or more years of hands-on system administration, with at least 3 years in an MSP or multi-client environment.
- Proven experience administering Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access and Intune.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 GCC High and/or Azure Government, including an understanding of how licensing, features, and endpoints differ from Commercial.
- Solid Azure infrastructure skills: networking, virtual machines, identity, and governance.
- Strong Windows Server and Active Directory skills in hybrid environments.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Defender XDR and/or Microsoft Sentinel.
- PowerShell scripting for administration and automation.
- Familiarity with NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2 requirements.
- Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
