Talent Acquisition Associate Jobs in Iowa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a talent acquisition associate in Iowa?
Most Iowa employers require a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a closely related field. Iowa does not issue a state license for talent acquisition roles, so the path centers on education and credentials recognized by professional bodies like SHRM or HRCI. Earning a SHRM-CP or PHR designation strengthens your candidacy at Iowa's larger corporate and healthcare employers. Entry-level candidates often start in HR coordinator or recruiting assistant roles before advancing.
Which companies hire talent acquisition associates in Iowa?
Employers hiring talent acquisition associates in Iowa right now include Feed Energy, Krause, and Lynnpro, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Iowa's concentration of financial services headquarters, regional health systems, and large manufacturing operations keeps demand for in-house recruiting support consistent throughout the year.
Which Iowa cities have the most talent acquisition associate jobs?
Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and Iowa account for the most talent acquisition associate openings in Iowa. Des Moines drives the largest share as the state's financial services and insurance hub, while Cedar Rapids and Davenport reflect strong demand from manufacturing, logistics, and regional healthcare employers anchored in those corridors.
Are there remote talent acquisition associate jobs in Iowa?
Yes, and more than many fields, since talent acquisition work is largely desk-based and conducted through phone screens, video interviews, and applicant tracking systems. About 75% of talent acquisition associate openings tied to Iowa are remote or hybrid as of August 2026. Sourcing, candidate screening, and ATS coordination are the functions most commonly performed fully remote, while onboarding support and hiring-manager partnerships tend to favor hybrid or on-site schedules.
How can I get hired as a talent acquisition associate in Iowa with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to HR coordinator or recruiting assistant roles at Iowa's large employer systems, which often serve as feeders into talent acquisition. Principal Financial Group, UnityPoint Health, and Iowa State University all run structured HR internship or new-professional programs that place candidates without extensive experience. Volunteering with SHRM's Iowa chapter, completing a SHRM-CP study course, or gaining hands-on experience with a free applicant tracking system builds a portfolio that resonates with Iowa hiring managers.
Where can I find and apply to talent acquisition associate jobs in Iowa?
