Talent Acquisition Associate Jobs in Virginia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a talent acquisition associate in Virginia?
Most Virginia employers require a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field, though some accept equivalent recruiting experience in lieu of a degree. There is no state-issued license required to work as a talent acquisition associate in Virginia. Earning the Society for Human Resource Management's SHRM-CP credential or the HR Certification Institute's aPHR is the clearest way to stand out, and both are widely recognized by Virginia employers in government contracting, healthcare, and corporate sectors.
Which companies hire talent acquisition associates in Virginia?
Virginia talent acquisition associate roles are posted by Amazon, Sentara, and Capital One and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Northern Virginia's dense concentration of defense contractors and technology firms makes it one of the most active hiring corridors in the state for in-house recruiting roles.
Which Virginia cities have the most talent acquisition associate jobs?
Richmond, Arlington, and Virginia Beach account for the largest share of talent acquisition associate openings in Virginia. The Northern Virginia corridor drives the bulk of demand because of its federal contracting industry and major corporate headquarters, while Richmond's health system and financial services employers sustain consistent recruiting volume, and Hampton Roads generates openings tied to its military and logistics workforce base.
Are there remote talent acquisition associate jobs in Virginia?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 60% of talent acquisition associate openings tied to Virginia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of the work, sourcing, screening, and coordinating, is conducted digitally. Fully remote roles are most common in corporate and tech-sector recruiting, while positions tied to cleared government contractor environments in Northern Virginia typically require on-site or hybrid schedules.
How can I get hired as a talent acquisition associate in Virginia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from an HR coordinator, staffing agency recruiter, or administrative support role into a talent acquisition associate position. Large Northern Virginia employers like Leidos, SAIC, and major health systems such as Inova run new-grad rotational and HR development programs that place candidates without dedicated recruiting experience. Building a sourcing portfolio, earning the aPHR credential, and targeting high-volume recruiting coordinator openings at Virginia-based staffing firms are concrete steps that open the door quickly.
Where can I find and apply to talent acquisition associate jobs in Virginia?
You can find and apply to talent acquisition associate jobs in Virginia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Virginia openings updated regularly.
