Talent Specialist Jobs in Hawaii: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a talent specialist in Hawaii?
Most talent specialist roles in Hawaii require a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a closely related field along with hands-on recruiting experience. Hawaii does not issue a state-specific license for talent specialists, but employers strongly favor candidates who hold nationally recognized credentials such as the SHRM-CP or PHR. Building familiarity with Hawaii's dominant industries, particularly hospitality, healthcare, and defense contracting, helps candidates stand out.
Which companies hire talent specialists in Hawaii?
Companies currently hiring talent specialists in Hawaii include Hilton Grand Vacations, City and County of Honolulu, and Steve's Plumbing & AC Service, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hawaii's mix of large resort operators, integrated health systems, and federal contractors means talent specialist demand is distributed across several distinct industry verticals rather than concentrated in a single sector.
Which Hawaii cities have the most talent specialist jobs?
‘Aiea, Kīhei, and Honolulu have the most talent specialist openings in Hawaii. Honolulu anchors the market given its concentration of corporate headquarters, hospital networks, and state and federal agencies, while Kapolei and Kailua-Kona reflect growth from resort development and regional healthcare expansion that has drawn dedicated recruiting functions outside the core metro.
Are there remote talent specialist jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, and more than many people expect, since recruiting and talent operations translate well to remote work. About 100% of talent specialist openings tied to Hawaii are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how much of the role centers on digital sourcing, video interviews, and applicant tracking system management. Roles focused on onboarding or in-person orientation coordination tend to remain on-site.
How can I get hired as a talent specialist in Hawaii with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for HR coordinator or recruiting coordinator roles at large Hawaii employers such as Hawaii Pacific Health or Hilton Grand Vacations, both of which hire associates with limited backgrounds and provide structured onboarding. Lateral moves from HR assistant, administrative coordinator, or customer service lead positions are commonly accepted. Completing the SHRM-CP exam, even as a candidate, signals commitment and often offsets a thin experience record.
Where can I find and apply to talent specialist jobs in Hawaii?
You can find and apply to talent specialist jobs in Hawaii on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Honolulu, Kapolei, and other Hawaii locations. Search the listings, identify the roles that match your experience and target industry, and apply directly to whichever ones fit your background.
