Tax Manager Jobs in Irvine: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a tax manager job in Irvine?
Focusing on Irvine's dominant sectors gives you the clearest path: technology companies in the Irvine Spectrum, financial services firms in the Airport Area, and real estate and private equity groups based in the Irvine Business Complex hire tax managers consistently. Candidates with CPA licensure, experience in ASC 740 or partnership taxation, and familiarity with multi-state compliance tend to stand out in this market. Targeting mid-size regional firms alongside the large corporate offices headquartered here broadens your options considerably.
Which companies hire tax managers in Irvine?
Companies currently hiring tax managers in Irvine include RSM, KPMG, and Lucas Horsfall, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Irvine's employer mix runs from publicly traded technology and life sciences companies to large regional professional services firms and privately held real estate investment groups, all of which maintain in-house tax functions.
Are there remote tax manager jobs in Irvine?
Yes, though the availability depends on role type: tax managers handling review, planning, and provision work tend to have more remote flexibility than those overseeing on-site audits or managing large local teams. About 50% of tax manager openings tied to Irvine are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with hybrid schedules most common at the large technology and financial services employers in the Irvine Spectrum and Airport Area.
How can I get a tax manager job in Irvine with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Irvine is moving up from a senior tax associate or tax senior role within one of the regional public accounting firms that operate here, such as the mid-size CPA practices clustered near the Irvine Business Complex. Many of Irvine's corporate tax departments also promote from within, so joining a large technology or financial services company at the senior analyst level and demonstrating ASC 740 or multi-state compliance skills can lead to a manager title within two to three years.
Which industries hire the most tax managers in Irvine?
The sectors hiring the most tax managers in Irvine are Accounting & Auditing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Irvine's role as a headquarters city for technology companies, a hub for real estate investment and private equity, and a center for financial services firms creates sustained, concentrated demand for tax management talent across all three sectors.
