Tax Senior Associate Jobs in Oregon: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a tax senior associate in Oregon?
You become a tax senior associate in Oregon by earning a CPA license through the Oregon Board of Accountancy, which requires a bachelor's degree with qualifying accounting credits, passing all four sections of the Uniform CPA Examination, and completing the required supervised experience hours. Most candidates begin in staff or associate roles at public accounting firms before advancing to the senior associate level, typically after building a foundation in compliance and tax provision work.
How much do tax senior associates make in Oregon?
Tax senior associates in Oregon earn a median of about $85,800 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,590 for the lowest 10% to over $130,650 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire tax senior associates in Oregon?
Employers hiring tax senior associates in Oregon right now include Geffen Mesher & Company, Aprio, and Jobot, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Oregon's mix of multinational corporations headquartered in the Portland metro, regional public accounting firms, and financial services companies creates consistent demand at the senior associate level.
Which Oregon cities have the most tax senior associate jobs?
The cities with the most tax senior associate openings in Oregon are Portland, Bend, and Salem. Portland dominates hiring as Oregon's primary business hub, home to corporate headquarters, the largest regional accounting firms, and financial services offices, while Beaverton and Eugene draw demand from technology campuses and university-adjacent professional services firms.
Are there remote tax senior associate jobs in Oregon?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 82% of tax senior associate openings tied to Oregon are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how well tax compliance and advisory work translates to remote delivery. Roles centered on federal and state income tax return preparation, tax research, and provision work are the most commonly offered as fully remote positions.
How can I get hired as a tax senior associate in Oregon with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a staff accountant or tax associate role at a regional Oregon firm such as Moss Adams, Perkins and Co, or one of the Big Four Portland offices, all of which run structured new-graduate programs that rotate candidates through tax compliance work. Sitting for the CPA exam while in an entry role gives candidates a measurable edge, and lateral moves from roles in bookkeeping, financial reporting, or audit are common stepping stones into a tax-focused track.
Where can I find and apply to tax senior associate jobs in Oregon?
You can find and apply to tax senior associate jobs in Oregon on Migrate Mate, which lists current Oregon openings from employers actively hiring. Search the roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
