Non-Tenure-Track ' Assistant Teaching Professor ' School of Social Work
The School of Social Work offers BSSW, MSW, and PhD degrees. The faculty are committed to excellence in research, teaching, and service, have substantial records of funded scholarship, and have national and international reputations. The position offers a unique opportunity to educate at an institution where many of the students are first-time in college and/or graduate school. The School of Social Work is the leading social work program in South Florida. South Florida is an international hub for recreation, tourism, and transportation.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include teaching four undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the fall and spring and serving on School, College, and University committees. The appointment will be as a 9-month, non-tenure-track, teaching faculty member.
Qualifications: Candidates must hold a PhD or other terminal degree in social work or a closely related field from an accredited institution. In addition, candidates are required to have an MSW from an accredited school of social work and a minimum of two years of post-MSW clinical practice experience. Experience in higher education is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in direct practice, human behavior in the environment, and/or policy. Successful applicants should demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate with a community of students, staff, and faculty.
