ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The PMO Technical Specialists are part of the Cross Carline & Project Engineering Team, ensuring overall program feasibility and target setting. They support Vehicle Technical Managers across vehicle development programs. Technical Specialists have broad knowledge of vehicle design and assembly and act as program monitors, addressing proto build issues promptly and coordinating resources for quick solutions. Assignments depend on client needs and program status; specialists may work on individual vehicles or common modules used in multiple vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Technical Specialist plays a critical role in supporting vehicle program development and execution. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Vehicle Technical Manager with program coordination and overseeing technical aspects such as technology, manufacturing, quality, and cost.
- Managing vehicle composition to ensure core structure integrity and interchangeability, and promoting product and process integration.
- Coordinating the creation, organization, and oversight of connections and fasteners, including leading related meetings and maintaining dashboards for tracking and escalation.
- Leading and facilitating Change Management processes, ensuring consistent communication and modification sharing across multiple sites.
- Organizing and synchronizing part modifications with project planning to achieve quality convergence.
- Supporting the convergence and responsiveness of product and process elements especially welding, painting, and assembly by coordinating modifications and resolving major defects.
- Coordinating rework and upgrade workshops for both used and new vehicles during various stages of production.
- Collaborating with purchasing teams on sourcing, generating part numbers and specifications, conducting trial runs to identify or mitigate issues, and ensuring all requested modifications reach dedicated sites.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, from an ABET accredited university
- Minimum of 5 years automotive industry experience at an OEM or large tier 1 in Product development engineering
- Must be a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and self-directed process thinker
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong written and presentation skills are a must able to clearly present a story to technical or management audiences
- Advanced to expert skill level in using Excel and PowerPoint
- Basic proficiency using CAD and PLM software
- Ability to interface with all levels of management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Full Program Life-cycle Experience & PDP understanding, including Launch experience
- Experience in multiple vehicle domains (body, chassis, powertrain, electronics, etc.)
- Manufacturing process fundamentals understanding
- Ability to quickly learn the use of proprietary software
COMPENSATION
- The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $20.80/hour - $32.51/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
