Tailor your resume to the partnership model

Negotiate scope before you negotiate title

Which companies are hiring the most technology partner managers?
The companies hiring the most technology partner managers right now include Wipro, Braze, and TikTok, with the largest share of openings in California, New York, and Illinois, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Cloud platform providers, cybersecurity vendors, and enterprise SaaS companies consistently account for the majority of open roles.

How do you become a technology partner manager?
Start by building experience in a customer-facing or partner-adjacent role such as sales development, solutions consulting, or channel sales support. Certifications from major cloud platforms can strengthen your profile for roles tied to those ecosystems.

Focus on roles titled partner coordinator, partner development representative, or alliance associate, which are designed for candidates without deep partner management backgrounds. Highlight transferable experience in sales, account management, or project coordination where you worked across teams or managed external relationships. Demonstrating familiarity with a major technology ecosystem, even through self-study or platform certifications, helps you stand out against more experienced applicants.
What does the technology partner manager interview process look like?
Most processes include an initial recruiter screen followed by a hiring manager conversation focused on your partnership philosophy and specific program examples. A panel interview with cross-functional stakeholders from sales, marketing, and product is common at mid-size and enterprise companies. Many employers finish with a take-home case or live presentation where you build a joint go-to-market plan or assess a fictional partner's quarterly performance.
