Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Commercial Project Manager
Frame your credentials around USMCA categories
The TN visa doesn't list 'Commercial Project Manager' explicitly, your offer letter must map the role to Management Consultant under USMCA. Ask your employer to describe duties as advisory and project-based, not purely operational or supervisory.
Target employers with established cross-border hiring
Prioritize construction, infrastructure, and engineering firms that regularly hire Canadian and Mexican professionals. These employers already understand TN documentation requirements and won't need to be educated on the process before extending an offer.
Prepare a degree-to-role equivalency document
CBP officers assess whether your academic background supports the specialty. A one-page summary showing how your engineering, business, or construction management degree connects to commercial project oversight strengthens your case at the port of entry.
Use Migrate Mate to find TN-ready openings
Search Migrate Mate to identify Commercial Project Manager roles at companies with active TN visa sponsorship history. Filtering by TN-eligible positions saves time and connects you with employers already set up to file the paperwork.
Negotiate the offer letter before accepting
The offer letter is a core TN filing document. Before signing, confirm it specifies your job title, project scope, consulting-style duties, and that employment is temporary. Vague or operations-heavy language can trigger a CBP denial.
Plan for USMCA-specific timelines if you're Mexican
Mexican nationals must schedule a U.S. consular interview, which adds weeks to the process. Build this into your start date negotiation. Canadian citizens can obtain TN status directly at a land port of entry, often the same day.

Find Commercial Project Manager JobsCommercial Project Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Commercial Project Manager qualify as a TN visa occupation?
There's no occupation called 'Commercial Project Manager' in the USMCA TN list, but most roles qualify under the Management Consultant category. The position must involve advisory, planning, and coordination duties rather than direct supervision or permanent operational management. Your employer's offer letter language is what CBP evaluates at the border or consulate.
How does the TN visa compare to the H-1B for Commercial Project Manager roles?
The TN visa has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadians, and no lengthy USCIS petition process. For Commercial Project Manager roles, qualified Canadian citizens can be approved at a U.S. port of entry in a single day. The H-1B requires employer sponsorship months in advance and is subject to random selection, making TN far more predictable for eligible nationals.
Where can I find Commercial Project Manager jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking TN-eligible roles in the U.S. You can search Commercial Project Manager openings filtered by TN visa sponsorship, connecting you with employers who have already agreed to support the filing process rather than needing to be convinced from scratch.
Can I switch Commercial Project Manager employers while on a TN visa?
Yes, but you need a new TN approval tied to the new employer before you start work there. You can't simply transfer TN status between jobs. Canadian citizens can apply at a port of entry with a new offer letter. Mexican nationals must return to a U.S. consulate. Plan for at least a few weeks of lead time before your transition date.
What documents does my employer need to prepare for my TN sponsorship?
Your employer provides a signed offer letter detailing your job title, duties framed around consulting and project coordination, the project scope, and the temporary nature of the engagement. They don't file a petition with USCIS for Canadian nationals. For Mexican nationals, a formal TN petition is submitted to USCIS or presented at a consular interview with supporting documentation.
