Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Construction Site Manager
Align your credentials to USMCA categories
Construction Site Manager isn't a listed TN occupation by that title. You'll need to frame your role under Engineer or another qualifying category, matching your degree field to the job duties your employer describes in the offer letter.
Request a detailed offer letter early
Your employer's offer letter does most of the heavy lifting at the border or consulate. Get them to specify your engineering or management credentials, the specialty nature of your duties, and your TN category before anything is filed.
Target contractors with federal or multi-state projects
General contractors on federally funded infrastructure projects already have established visa sponsorship experience and HR processes in place. They're more likely to be familiar with work visa procedures and requirements, making the TN visa application process smoother without needing to educate them from scratch.
Prepare province-specific credential documentation
If you hold a P.Eng. from a Canadian provincial association, bring your registration certificate and transcript. U.S. border officers and consular officials use these to verify the specialty occupation standard, especially for construction-adjacent engineering roles.
Use Migrate Mate to find employers with active visa filings
Search Migrate Mate to surface construction employers with recent visa filings and experience sponsoring work visas. Targeting companies familiar with visa sponsorship processes reduces the need to educate HR teams unfamiliar with the TN application steps.
Verify the employer's visa sponsorship experience beforehand
If your construction project moves between job sites in different metro areas, confirm with your employer that they understand TN visa requirements for your role. While TN sponsorship itself doesn't involve government filings, your employer should verify that your position qualifies under TN occupational categories and that you meet all eligibility criteria before presenting your case at the port of entry or consulate.

Find Construction Site Manager JobsConstruction Site Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Construction Site Manager qualify as a TN visa occupation?
Not directly by that title. TN visas cover specific USMCA-listed occupations, and Construction Site Manager isn't one of them verbatim. Most applicants qualify under the Engineer category, provided the role requires applying engineering principles and the candidate holds a relevant engineering degree. The offer letter must make this connection explicit for CBP or consular officers to approve the petition.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for this role?
For Canadian citizens, TN is significantly faster and more predictable. There's no annual lottery, no cap, and Canadians can apply at the border the same day they receive an offer. H-1B requires employer registration, a lottery selection, and a wait until October 1 to start work. Mexican nationals face a TN annual limit, making H-1B a practical backup if that cap is reached.
What documents should I bring to the border as a Canadian Construction Site Manager?
Bring your employer's offer letter detailing your job duties and TN category, your engineering degree or diploma, your P.Eng. registration certificate if applicable, and a valid Canadian passport. CBP officers assess whether your qualifications match the specialty occupation on the spot. Incomplete documentation is the most common reason for delays or denials at the port of entry.
Where can I find Construction Site Manager jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking U.S. jobs with TN visa sponsorship. You can search by role and filter for employers who've worked with TN visa holders before, which saves time compared to cold-applying to companies unfamiliar with the process.
Can my TN visa cover multiple construction job sites across different states?
Your TN status is tied to the employer and role, not a fixed address. If you rotate between project sites in different metropolitan areas, make sure your employer documentation clearly reflects all potential work locations before you present your case at the port of entry (for Canadians) or consulate (for Mexicans). This ensures your TN approval covers the scope of work you'll actually perform. Confirm the details with your employer before your first TN approval so you're not caught off-guard mid-project.
