Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as an Epic Analyst
Align your credentials to Systems Analyst
TN approval for Epic Analyst roles depends on classifying the position under Systems Analyst. Confirm your degree is in computer science, health informatics, or a directly related field before applying, since unrelated degrees draw CBP scrutiny at the port of entry.
Target hospitals with active Epic installations
Health systems running Epic EHR platforms are your strongest hiring pool. Large academic medical centers and regional hospital networks routinely hire analysts for build, optimization, and go-live support, and most already have TN filing experience with prior international hires.
Request a TN support letter covering your module
Ask your employer to specify your Epic module, such as Resolute, Willow, or Ambulatory, in the TN support letter. CBP officers approve petitions faster when the letter maps your technical duties to the Systems Analyst definition rather than using a generic job description.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Searching for roles open to TN candidates is faster when filtered by employer visa experience. Migrate Mate surfaces Epic Analyst postings from employers with recent visa filings, so you spend less time on outreach to companies without established sponsorship processes.
Understand the Mexican TN cap timeline early
Mexican nationals face a 5,500 annual TN cap processed through USCIS, not CBP. Filing early in the fiscal year reduces waitlist risk. Confirm with your employer that they're prepared to file a USCIS petition, not just issue a support letter, well before your start date.
Prepare for CBP questioning on vendor certifications
Canadian professionals entering at the port of entry may be asked to demonstrate Epic-specific qualifications. Carry printed copies of your Epic certification, degree transcripts, and employer support letter together, since CBP officers sometimes request all three on the spot.

Find Epic Analyst JobsEpic Analyst TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Epic Analyst role qualify for a TN visa?
Yes, Epic Analyst positions qualify under the TN visa Systems Analyst category, provided the role involves analyzing, designing, or implementing health information systems and the applicant holds a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, health informatics, or information systems. CBP evaluates the job duties in the employer support letter against this definition, so the letter's language matters.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for Epic Analyst roles?
TN is a strong alternative to H-1B for Epic Analysts. There's no lottery for Canadian citizens, no annual cap risk, and approval at the port of entry is often same-day. H-1B requires an annual lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection chance and a months-long USCIS adjudication period. For Mexicans, the TN cap of 5,500 still avoids the H-1B lottery entirely and processes faster through USCIS.
What documentation does an employer need to sponsor a TN visa for this role?
The employer prepares a support letter on company letterhead describing your Epic Analyst duties, your qualifications, the duration of employment, and your compensation structure. For Canadian applicants, this letter plus your credentials go directly to CBP at the port of entry. For Mexican nationals, you present this letter and supporting documentation at a U.S. consulate during your visa interview. No government filing or prevailing wage determination is required for TN status, making the process more streamlined than visa categories that involve lengthy federal review.
Where can I find Epic Analyst jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists Epic Analyst roles at employers with recent visa filings, so you can identify companies already experienced with work visa sponsorship. This matters because employers familiar with visa processes can move faster from offer to entry, rather than needing to research sponsorship requirements from scratch once you accept a position. For TN visas specifically, experienced employers understand the documentation needed—like the support letter required for Canadian applicants at the port of entry, or for Mexican applicants at the consulate—and can prepare materials efficiently.
Can I switch employers on a TN visa if I get a better Epic Analyst offer?
Yes, TN status is employer-specific but not locked in. Canadian professionals can present new documentation at a port of entry to transfer TN status to a new employer. Mexican TN holders need a new USCIS petition approved before starting the new role. Build a two-to-four week buffer between offer acceptance and your start date to allow for this transition.
