Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship in Factory Worker
Verify your occupation meets TN requirements
Factory Worker is not a standalone TN visa category. Your specific role must map to a qualifying USMCA occupation. Review the official TN occupation list and confirm your job duties align before targeting employers.
Request a detailed employer support letter
Your TN application lives or dies on the employer's support letter. It must specify your job duties, the USMCA category you qualify under, your Canadian or Mexican citizenship, and your intended length of employment.
Target manufacturers enrolled in E-Verify
Factories enrolled in E-Verify already have infrastructure for work authorization verification. This signals familiarity with foreign national hiring and reduces the back-and-forth of educating an employer on TN sponsorship basics.
Gather credential documents before applying
Even for trade-level factory roles, CBP officers at the port of entry expect documentation supporting your TN classification. Compile your credential records, employment letters, and citizenship proof before your first interview.
Search for TN-sponsoring factories using Migrate Mate
Find manufacturing employers with active TN visa sponsorship history using Migrate Mate. Filtering by role and sponsorship status saves time you'd otherwise spend cold-contacting factories with no foreign national hiring experience.
Prepare for same-day CBP adjudication as a Canadian
Canadian citizens can have their TN approved at the port of entry on the same day they present their offer letter and supporting documents. Bring originals, not copies, and arrive at a land border or airport prepared for a CBP interview.
Factory Worker TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Factory Worker role qualify for a TN visa?
It depends on the specific duties. TN visa eligibility requires your role to map to a designated USMCA occupation category. General assembly or production line work typically does not qualify on its own. Roles involving technical supervision, quality engineering, or industrial management may qualify if your credentials and job duties align with a listed category.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for factory roles?
The TN visa has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, so you're not subject to the random selection that makes H-1B visa unpredictable. Mexican citizens face a limited TN allocation but still avoid the H-1B lottery. The tradeoff is that TN classification is tied to specific USMCA occupations, so borderline factory roles require careful documentation to qualify.
How do I find Factory Worker jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search for manufacturing employers with recent visa filings who may be experienced with visa sponsorship. Most general job searches won't filter by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you end up approaching factories unfamiliar with hiring foreign nationals. Targeting employers already experienced with visa sponsorship can help streamline your application process significantly.
What does the factory employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a signed support letter on company letterhead stating your job title, duties, the specific USMCA occupation category your role falls under, your citizenship, and the duration of employment. CBP officers at the port of entry or the U.S. consulate will review this letter as the core of your TN application.
Can Mexican factory workers apply for TN status the same way Canadians do?
No. Canadian citizens can apply for TN status directly at a U.S. port of entry, often receiving same-day approval. Mexican citizens must apply for a TN visa stamp at a U.S. consulate in Mexico, which requires scheduling an appointment and waiting for visa processing. Both require the same employer support documentation, but the process and timeline differ significantly.
