TN Visa Graduate Nurse Jobs
Graduate Nurse jobs qualify for TN visa sponsorship under the USMCA treaty, but you'll need to meet specific credential and licensing requirements before any U.S. employer can file. Canadian nurses get port-of-entry processing with no cap; Mexican nurses face a limited TN allocation and consular processing.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Graduate Nurse
Get your NCLEX and credentials verified first
U.S. employers won't move forward without proof you've passed the NCLEX-RN and hold an active state nursing license or eligibility letter. Secure these before you start outreach, or your application stalls at the first screening call.
Target hospitals with recent visa sponsorship experience
Large health systems and academic medical centers have recent visa filings and HR teams experienced with work visa sponsorship. Community clinics and small private practices often lack this infrastructure, so prioritize employers where visa sponsorship isn't a new concept.
Clarify your license status during the offer stage
Many states require full licensure before you can start work, not just eligibility. Confirm with your offer letter whether the employer will hold the role until your license is issued, since TN status alone doesn't authorize you to practice.
Use Migrate Mate to find Graduate Nurse roles with sponsorship
Search Migrate Mate to filter Graduate Nurse positions by employers actively offering TN visa sponsorship. It surfaces roles where the employer has already committed to the process, so you're not cold-pitching companies unfamiliar with TN filings.
Bring a detailed support letter to the port of entry
For Canadian nurses seeking TN status at the border, the employer's support letter must specify your job title, duties, and RN credential requirement. Vague letters citing only 'healthcare support' have led to delays and secondary inspection.
Understand how Mexican nurse applicants file differently
Mexican nationals must apply through a U.S. consulate rather than at a port of entry, and TN allocations are limited. Start consular appointment scheduling early, and confirm your employer is prepared to provide the required documentation package in advance.

Find Graduate Nurse JobsGraduate Nurse TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Graduate Nurse role qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
Yes, Registered Nurse is a listed TN occupation under USMCA, and Graduate Nurse roles qualify when the position requires RN licensure. You'll need to demonstrate that the job is a specialty occupation tied to nursing and that you meet the educational and licensing requirements. An offer letter from a U.S. employer and your NCLEX result are the two documents that anchor every TN filing for this role.
How does the TN visa compare to the H-1B for Graduate Nurse positions?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadians, and can be approved at the port of entry the same day for eligible applicants. The H-1B requires a lottery entry in March, a months-long wait, and employer-paid USCIS filing fees. For Canadian nurses with a qualifying offer, TN is almost always faster. Mexican nurses face a TN allocation limit, making the comparison closer, but TN still avoids the lottery entirely.
Can I start working as a Graduate Nurse before I have my full RN license?
TN status as a Registered Nurse requires that the position itself demands RN licensure, but individual state nursing boards control when you can legally practice. Some states permit working under a temporary practice permit while your full license is processed. Confirm your destination state's rules before accepting an offer, and make sure your employer understands the distinction between TN approval and state practice authorization.
How do I find employers who will sponsor a TN visa for a Graduate Nurse role?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter Graduate Nurse positions by employers who have committed to TN visa sponsorship, which removes the guesswork of approaching companies that don't know how to file. Large hospital systems and academic medical centers are the most consistent TN sponsors in nursing, but Migrate Mate surfaces active postings across employer types so you can compare options.
What documents does my employer need to file for my TN visa as a Graduate Nurse?
Your employer prepares a support letter stating your job title, duties, the RN credential requirement, and your start date. You provide your nursing diploma or transcript, your NCLEX passing result, and your state license or eligibility letter. Canadian nurses present these at the port of entry directly. Mexican nurses submit them as part of the consular visa application package, which requires scheduling an interview appointment in advance.
