Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Management Consultant
Frame your credentials around specialty occupation
TN approval for Management Consultant hinges on demonstrating that your role requires specialized knowledge, not general business advice. Gather transcripts, degree certificates, and a detailed job offer letter that ties your specific duties to your academic field.
Target employers experienced with visa sponsorship
Companies experienced with visa sponsorship understand the process and won't hesitate to support qualified candidates. Focus your search on mid-size and large consulting firms that regularly place professionals at client sites across the U.S. These employers are more likely to be familiar with TN visa requirements and willing to prepare the support letter you'll need for your border or consulate application.
Get your offer letter to pass CBP scrutiny
CBP officers adjudicate TN petitions on the spot for Canadians. Your offer letter must specify your title as Management Consultant, describe duties requiring a bachelor's degree, state your wage, and confirm the temporary nature of the engagement.
Search TN-sponsored Management Consultant roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to find Management Consultant positions where employers have confirmed TN visa sponsorship, so you're not cold-applying to roles where sponsorship is uncertain or the hiring team is unfamiliar with the USMCA process.
Prepare for the consulting project-based employment question
CBP officers frequently ask Management Consultants whether they are employees or independent contractors. TN requires a genuine employer-employee relationship, so confirm your offer is for direct employment, not a contract or self-employment arrangement.
Understand the Mexican national consular appointment timeline
Mexican professionals cannot obtain TN status at the port of entry and must attend a consular interview at a U.S. embassy or consulate in Mexico. Factor appointment availability into your start date negotiations with your employer.

Find Management Consultant JobsManagement Consultant TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Management Consultant role actually qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, Management Consultant is an explicitly listed TN occupation under USMCA. To qualify, your role must require a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, economics, or engineering, and your duties must involve providing expert analysis and recommendations rather than general administrative work. CBP officers review the offer letter carefully to confirm the role meets this standard.
How does the TN visa compare to the H-1B for Management Consultant jobs?
The TN visa has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, so you can start the moment CBP approves your application at the port of entry, often the same day you present your documents. The H-1B requires entering the lottery, waiting up to a year, and paying significantly higher filing fees. For Canadian and Mexican professionals, TN is generally the faster and more predictable path into U.S. consulting roles.
Will my employer need to file anything with USCIS for my TN visa?
Canadian professionals do not require USCIS involvement. Your employer prepares a support letter and you present it at a Canadian port of entry, where CBP adjudicates the TN on the spot. Mexican nationals follow a different path: the employer may file a petition with USCIS or you attend a consular interview at a U.S. embassy in Mexico. Either way, USCIS is not involved for Canadians.
Where can I find Management Consultant jobs that already offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter for Management Consultant roles where employers have confirmed TN visa sponsorship, so you're not wasting applications on positions where the hiring team has never processed a USMCA professional or may decline to sponsor at the offer stage.
Can I switch consulting employers while on TN status?
Yes, but you cannot start working for a new employer until you have a new TN authorization tied to that employer. Canadian professionals typically return to a port of entry with a new offer letter and obtain a new TN the same day. Mexican nationals must complete a new consular appointment or file a change of employer petition. Never begin work with the new employer before your new TN is approved.
