Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Marketing Designer
Align your portfolio to U.S. specialty occupation standards
TN approval hinges on demonstrating that Marketing Designer work requires a bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, or a related field. Structure your portfolio to show degree-dependent creative and strategic output, not just execution skills.
Request a TN-specific offer letter from your employer
Your offer letter must state your job title as 'Graphic Designer' or 'Marketing Designer,' confirm the role requires your specific degree, and specify a definite employment period. A vague or open-ended letter is the most common filing rejection point.
Target employers with in-house creative or brand teams
Companies with dedicated brand, product marketing, or creative departments are more likely to understand TN sponsorship requirements and have HR processes already in place. Focus your search on mid-size to large employers with structured creative functions.
Use Migrate Mate to find employers actively sponsoring TN visas
Migrate Mate filters Marketing Designer roles by TN visa sponsorship history, so you're not cold-applying to employers unfamiliar with the process. Identify companies that have sponsored similar creative roles and prioritize them in your outreach.
Prepare credential documentation before your border appointment
Canadian applicants present their full TN package at the port of entry with no advance filing. Arrive with your degree transcripts, credential evaluation if your institution is outside the U.S. or Canada, and a signed offer letter to avoid being turned away.
Understand Mexican nationals' consular processing timeline
Mexican citizens must schedule a visa interview at a U.S. consulate, which adds weeks to the process. File the DS-160, pay the MRV fee, and schedule your appointment well before your intended start date to avoid delaying your employer's onboarding plans.

Find Marketing Designer JobsMarketing Designer TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Marketing Designer role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, provided the role is framed under the USMCA's 'Graphic Designer' occupational category and requires a bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, visual communications, or a closely related field. If the position is listed as 'Marketing Designer' but the job duties are primarily design-driven and degree-dependent, it generally qualifies. Roles that blend design with general marketing coordination can face scrutiny if the degree requirement isn't clearly established.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Marketing Designer roles?
TN is significantly more accessible for Canadian and Mexican nationals pursuing Marketing Designer positions. There's no annual lottery, no cap for Canadians, and processing can happen at the port of entry on the same day. H-1B selection is lottery-based, capped at 85,000 annually, and requires filing months in advance. For qualified Canadian nationals especially, TN is a faster and more predictable path to U.S. employment in this field.
What documents does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a support letter on company letterhead that specifies your job title as a graphic or marketing designer, confirms the position requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, outlines your duties, states your salary, and confirms the employment period. The letter is not filed with any government agency in advance for Canadian applicants but must be presented at the port of entry or U.S. consulate.
Where can I find Marketing Designer jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking U.S. roles with TN visa sponsorship. You can filter Marketing Designer listings by sponsorship availability, saving time you'd otherwise spend screening employers who aren't familiar with or willing to support the TN process. Starting your search there puts you directly in front of employers who already understand what TN sponsorship involves.
Can I switch Marketing Designer employers while on TN status?
Yes, but you must obtain a new TN approval before starting work with the new employer. TN status is employer-specific, so your current authorization does not carry over. Canadian nationals can apply at a port of entry with a new offer letter from the incoming employer. Mexican nationals must schedule a new consular appointment. There is no grace period for unauthorized employment between roles.
