Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a National Account Manager
Frame your role as management consulting
TN visa approval for National Account Manager roles depends on positioning your duties around diagnosing client business challenges and prescribing solutions, not just managing revenue targets. Your offer letter and job description must reflect this distinction clearly.
Request a TN-compliant offer letter early
Ask your prospective employer to draft the offer letter before you accept. It must specify your professional capacity, duties, Canadian or Mexican citizenship, and intended TN period. A generic sales management letter will get you turned away at the border.
Target employers with cross-border account portfolios
Companies managing accounts in Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. simultaneously are already accustomed to international professional arrangements. They're more likely to understand TN sponsorship mechanics and less likely to misclassify your role during the offer process.
Use Migrate Mate to filter by TN visa sponsorship history
Search National Account Manager openings on Migrate Mate to identify employers experienced with visa sponsorship. Targeting companies with recent visa filings means they understand work visa requirements and can move quickly on offer letter preparation and role documentation.
Prepare credential documentation before any border appointment
CBP officers at the port of entry adjudicate TN applications on the spot for Canadians. Bring your bachelor's degree, transcripts, and the signed offer letter. Gaps in documentation can result in a same-day refusal with no opportunity to supplement.
Understand the Mexican TN consular process differs from Canada
Mexican citizens must apply at a U.S. consulate rather than at the border. Processing timelines vary by post, and the 5,500 annual cap means applying early in the fiscal year reduces the risk of hitting the allocation limit before your start date.

Find National Account Manager JobsNational Account Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a National Account Manager role qualify for TN visa status?
It can, but classification depends on your actual duties, not your job title. CBP and consular officers assess whether you're functioning as a Management Consultant under USMCA, meaning you analyze business problems and recommend solutions at a strategic level. If your role is primarily sales execution or quota management with no consulting component, TN classification becomes difficult to support.
How does TN compare to H-1B for National Account Manager positions?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadians, and can be obtained at the border in a single day. H-1B requires a lottery selection, months of processing, and significant employer legal costs. For Canadian and Mexican professionals in account management roles with a consulting dimension, TN is faster and simpler, as long as the role fits the Management Consultant category criteria.
Where can I find National Account Manager jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking TN visa jobs in the U.S. You can search National Account Manager openings filtered by TN sponsorship, which helps you reach employers who already understand the visa category and have structured their offer process accordingly, rather than educating every recruiter from scratch.
Can my employer file a TN petition on my behalf, or do I handle it myself?
For Canadian citizens, there is no USCIS petition. You present your documents directly at a U.S. port of entry, and CBP adjudicates on the spot. Your employer provides the offer letter but is not the petitioner. For Mexican citizens, a Form I-129 petition is filed with USCIS before a consular appointment, which does require employer action.
What happens if my National Account Manager role evolves and my duties change significantly?
If your core duties shift away from the Management Consultant framework, your existing TN approval may no longer accurately reflect your status. You should work with your employer to reassess whether TN remains the correct classification before renewing, or explore whether a different nonimmigrant category better fits the evolved role. Mismatched classifications create risk at renewal or re-entry.
