Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Patient Care Coordinator
Match your degree to the role description
TN status for Patient Care Coordinators requires a direct tie between your credential and the job duties. A degree in health administration, nursing, or social work strengthens your case far more than a general business degree.
Gather Canadian or Mexican credential equivalency documentation
U.S. employers and CBP officers may request proof that your credential is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree. A credential evaluation from a NACES-recognized body removes ambiguity before the interview or border crossing.
Target healthcare systems with active HR infrastructure
Large hospital networks and federally qualified health centers process TN petitions regularly, so their HR teams already understand the employer letter requirements. Smaller private clinics often have no TN filing experience and stall the process.
Request an employer support letter that specifies your profession category
The employer letter must explicitly state that the role falls within a USMCA professional category. Vague language about job duties without citing the qualifying profession category is a common reason CBP officers request additional documentation.
Use Migrate Mate to find Patient Care Coordinator openings from employers with recent visa filings
Searching broadly wastes time on employers without visa sponsorship experience. Migrate Mate filters roles by recent visa filings, so your applications go to employers already equipped to navigate work visa sponsorship and support your TN status.
Understand that Mexican citizens must complete consular processing, not port-of-entry admission
Unlike Canadians, Mexican TN applicants must schedule a consular interview and obtain visa stamp approval before entering to work. Build at least four to six weeks of lead time into your start date negotiations with any prospective employer.

Find Patient Care Coordinator JobsPatient Care Coordinator TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Patient Care Coordinator role actually qualify for TN visa status?
It depends on how the role is structured and what degree it requires. TN status covers specific professional categories under USMCA, and Patient Care Coordinator positions qualify when the employer documents that the job requires a bachelor's degree in a health-related field such as nursing, health services administration, or social work. Roles that accept any degree or no degree at all will not qualify.
How does TN visa sponsorship for this role compare to H-1B?
TN has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, so qualified applicants can start work without waiting for a selection round. H-1B registrations are capped at 65,000 per year with a lottery that many applicants lose multiple times. For Canadians, TN is typically faster and more predictable for Patient Care Coordinator roles that meet the specialty occupation threshold under both frameworks.
What documents does a Canadian Patient Care Coordinator need at the border?
You need a valid Canadian passport, a detailed employer support letter that names the USMCA professional category and describes your duties, proof of your qualifying degree or credential, and your job offer or employment contract. CBP officers at the port of entry make the TN determination on the spot, so every document should clearly connect your credential to the specific position.
How can I find Patient Care Coordinator jobs where the employer already understands TN sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this. The platform surfaces Patient Care Coordinator openings from employers with documented TN and work visa sponsorship history, which means you avoid spending weeks on applications to HR teams who have never processed a TN worker. Filtering by sponsorship history is the fastest way to identify employers who can actually move forward with your status.
Can a Mexican Patient Care Coordinator get TN status, and how is the process different?
Yes, Mexican citizens are eligible for TN status under USMCA, but the process differs from what Canadian applicants experience. Mexican nationals cannot seek TN admission at the port of entry and must apply for a TN visa at a U.S. consulate in Mexico before traveling to work. Appointment availability and processing timelines vary by consulate, so coordinating your start date with your employer early in the process is essential.
